3 Best Driving Schools in Regina, SK

Q: How do you prepare students for both written and practical tests?

For the written knowledge test, we direct students to the Saskatchewan Driver’s Handbook and the official SGI practice quiz through our website. We encourage them to understand the rules rather than just memorize answers. Our live online classroom training helps explain road rules, hazard awareness, and defensive driving. For the Class 5 road test, we practise skills such as parking, turns, lane changes, shoulder checks, speed control, and intersections. Students receive clear feedback about what they are doing well and where they need more practice.

Q: What safety measures do you follow during in-car driving lessons?

Our in-car lessons are taught by SGI-certified Class 5 instructors using dual-control training vehicles. We begin with pre-drive safety checks, proper seating and mirror adjustments, and an introduction to the vehicle’s controls. Lessons progress according to the student’s ability and confidence, with traffic, weather, and road conditions taken into account. Throughout the lesson, we reinforce safe observation, shoulder checks, following distance, and appropriate speed. Our calm, step-by-step approach helps students stay focused and learn safely.

Q: What is the typical duration of a driving lesson?

Our in-car driving lessons are usually 2 hours long. Students completing the SGI 6 & 6 program generally take 3 separate 2-hour sessions to complete their 6 hours of in-car training. This gives them time to practise different skills, ask questions, and build on what they learned in the previous lesson. Brush-up lessons also require a minimum 2-hour booking.

Q: Do you offer pick-up and drop-off services for students?

Yes, we offer free pickup and drop-off for in-car driving lessons within Regina and Moose Jaw. We can meet you at home, school, work, or another convenient location within the city. Simply arrange your pickup location with your instructor when booking your lesson.

Q: What licenses and certifications does your driving school hold in Regina?

Faizan’s Defensive Driving School is an SGI-certified Class 5 driving school serving Regina and Moose Jaw. Our instructors are SGI-certified Class 5 driver educators. We provide SGI 6 & 6 driver training, which includes 6 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of in-car lessons. Students receive their SGI Driver Education Certificate after successfully completing the full program.

Q: What is the typical cost range for driving lessons in Regina?

Driving lessons in Regina typically cost around $80 - $90 per hour, depending on the lesson type and availability. We require a minimum 2-hour booking for in-car lessons. Our full SGI 6 & 6 program generally ranges from $570 - $670 and includes 6 hours of online classroom instruction and 6 hours of in-car training. Free pickup and drop-off is included within Regina. For our current rates and any available promotions, call or text us at 306-737-5612.

Q: How do you help students identify and correct common driving mistakes?

We help students understand what needs improvement, why it matters, and how to correct it. During lessons, we give clear, calm feedback on things like missed shoulder checks, incomplete stops, speed control, lane position, and turning. We break skills into simple steps and give students time to practise. After each lesson, we send a short list of points to work on, then revisit those skills in the next session. We adjust the pace to each student so they can build confidence without feeling rushed.

Q: How do you teach fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible driving habits?

We encourage students to drive smoothly, look well ahead, and leave a safe following distance. Anticipating traffic lights and changes in traffic helps reduce unnecessary acceleration and sudden braking. We explain how gentle acceleration, steady speeds when conditions allow, and avoiding unnecessary idling can reduce fuel use and emissions. We also discuss regular vehicle maintenance and proper tire pressure. The focus is on practical habits that support safer driving while reducing fuel waste.

Q: How many students do you successfully train each year?

Our annual student numbers vary depending on enrolment and lesson availability. At Faizan’s Defensive Driving School, we focus on giving each learner patient, personal guidance and the time they need to build safe driving habits and confidence behind the wheel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Driving Schools in Regina, Canada

Carefully selected questions to evaluate important aspects. Comparing the answers helps you choose the service provider that best suits your needs.

1. How do you assess a student's driving skills before beginning lessons?

Regina Professional Driving Inc. - Submit now

Answer from FAIZAN'S DEFENSIVE DRIVING SCHOOL

We start by asking about the student’s driving experience, confidence, and anything they find difficult. During the first lesson, we assess their skills at a level that is safe and comfortable for them. We look at vehicle control, observation, steering, braking, turns, and understanding of road rules. A complete beginner starts with the basics, while an experienced driver may need help correcting specific habits. This helps us plan lessons around what each student actually needs.
