Amazing service, and great food! We were served promptly and with great recommendations. Got the most amazing pint of Guinness to start. The fish and chips (and onion rings) were SO crispy and delicious!! Better than what we ate in London just a year ago. Gigantic portions, and delicious sauces. Also had deep fried pickles and deep fried mars bar, which were amazing. We are also big fans of their ice cream. Can't wait to return.

DELICIOUS!! Fantastic food, served with a smile!! Nice decor and menu options. An overall great experience that I would recommend to anyone!! (I wish they did battered sausages though.

We booked Chip and Malt for a private event with around 60 people. The staff were so kind, organized and helpful! With short notice they were able to customize a menu and ensure everything was executed smoothly. The food was exceptional I had so many compliments from our friends and family. I couldn’t be happier with the service and food, highly recommend I wish I could give 10 stars.

Came for dinner with a friend on Thursday around 6pm. When we entered the place wasn't busy but it honestly got busy pretty quick, and every single person knew the owners by name "Jay". Absolutely amazing guy, great food, great service, always smiling and cleaning. Got the halibut & chips special, I also got some onion rings, amazing. Really good fish & chips. nice and tender fish but crispy coating. Will 100% be back.

I found this place on Google and because of the high rating 4.8, I decided to give it a try. First of all I will say I loved it. I had the halibut special and haddock special. The batter had the perfect light crisp I enjoyed. U can actually taste the fish instead of a overly greasy batter at most places. The oil was fresh, as it did not have that dark oily and greasy feel in the fish and fries. The fries were fresh home cut and very crispy. The owner was very welcoming and hard hard working. Enjoyed the conversation with him about his history.

Had the J's Special w/ 2 Halibut, battered shrimp, scallops and chips. Great light batter and scallops perfectly cooked. They have a "Seniors Special". The best f&c in Newmarket because of the batter. Check it out.

Love this place! Fish never smells like strong fish. It's always fresh fries as well and large pieces and not that greasy at all. It's very enjoyable. It's worth it. I give them a five star. Always the same great service always. Food is great.

Awesome food, friendly staff, the fish and chips were freshly made and the fries were crispy as well, I would recommend.

Huge portion! The fish was seasoned perfectly, the batter was so flavourful and had an amazing light crisp! Reminds me of the fish and chips I had in PEI.
