CenSai Roll takes its name from blending Central Saanich and Sensei, a Japanese word alluding to one who teaches based on wisdom from age and experience. They have a great selection from which to choose from off their menu. CenSai Roll has dine-in, takeout, outdoor seating, and home delivery services that are tailored to customers' preferences. The restaurant has high chairs and a television.

2025 Update: They have gluten-free or vegetarian options. They now provide lunch and dinner party trays for large groups and special occasions. Custom party trays can be created by scheduling a consultation.”

I ordered a took out. A suchi tray for 2. It was fresh and yummy. The tray was ready to pick up at the requested time. Very recommended. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options Parking: Free parking lot nearby.

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in a very very long time. The rice and sauce is out of this world the portions are perfect and so worth the visit.

I stopped in to get a quick bite, I got the house special and the nigiri was AWESOME. I highly recommend this place! The two staff were so welcoming and friendly. 10/10 I would recommend and go back.

TASTE OF TOKYO REVIEWS

Tried this little place in Sidney and it was very good for lunch. We ordered the California roll and dynamite roll along with one of their rotating Monday specials, a Panko salmon bento box. The rotating special is only $14 and is the perfect amount of food (miso, panko salmon and katsu sauce with rice, bbq salmon sushi and salad. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. I’ll be back!

Ordered take out (through an app) I was pleasantly surprised at how well presented everything was. Even as take out the tempura was pretty crispy so I imagine it is perfect if you dine in. The batter was light as air. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends. I ordered a good cross section of dishes to try them out and everything was consistently high quality.

Always delicious and fresh! My go to sushi when I'm in sidney. Take out or dine in, it's always good. If you're dining in, you've got to try their boat!

A great, charming little sushi place. They do not have a wide variety of hot foods but the sushi is delicious. Try the mango roll for something different! It’s my fave. They always have friendly service, peaceful piano music and a self-serve urn of complimentary hot tea in the corner.

I love this place! I've been going since they opened. The sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the service is always friendly. Very nice family! For the people saying the wait times are long, it really depends when you call. Sometimes they tell me 10 minutes, other times it can be up to an hour, but for the most part, I rarely have to wait longer than half an hour. I'm a local and a regular - love supporting a small local business! Would highly recommend Yami for their sushi :)

Very close to butchard gardens. Amazing food quality, taste and price. Even if you are in downtown, worth the travel.
