RESTO GARE BISTRO AND TRAIN BAR REVIEWS

Wow - what a treat- visited this restaurant for my wife’s 54 birthday dinner with 4 others - food was fantastic! We had the frois grois, charcuterie board appetizers, French onion soup - full body broth - best I’ve had! We had the tenderloin tips with blue cheese- (suggest you substitute veggies for the fries), and my wife had the lobster risotto with prawns-everything was excellent! Live music as well really added to the casual refined atmosphere, and the service was also excellent.

What an absolute gem of a place from the great service, atmosphere/decor to the amazing food. I had the Filet Mignon and wife had the Beef BOURGUIGNON which were both outstanding. Plus the amazing escargot. Will be back.

Really good food and reasonably cheap for what you get. Ate in the train car which was a cool atmosphere but can get quite loud. Tip for management, should have Kronesberg 1664 on the beer list if you are a french restaurant.

PROMENADE BRASSERIE REVIEWS

My husband and I love to try new breakfast places once a month. We decided to come here for St. Valentine’s Day and let me tell you it was the best decision ever. Food is delicious!! I had the French toast and my husband the smash burger. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Service was super fast. The prices were similar to other breakfast places. This place is in a prime location, right across the Provencher Bridge. Our view from the table was beautiful, we could see the Forks and the Human Right Museum. Highly recommend it.

This was such an incredible experience! Flavourful food, delicious drinks, and great atmosphere. We had the street corn and winter citrus salad to start, with the beef short rib ragu and fried chicken. We only had a few bites left and had to take it home. The fried chicken was 10/10. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely dinner at Promenade Brasserie. The food was absolutely phenomenal and I will be recommending it to friends & family visiting Winnipeg. One of the best restaurants I have visited.

THE FRENCH WAY CAFE REVIEWS

I had some time to kill and stopped in at the French Way Cafe. I’m enjoying a very refreshing and delicious peach thyme lemonade. Not too sweet and really good. But the Blackberry Key Lime pie is light and delicious! What a great way to spend my free time today.

This is a loved and go-to brunch place. Their menu is set, but they do have seasonal drinks and soups, which are always nice to try. Recently I had the Ham Crepes and they were simply outstanding. The ham serving was generous, and the veggies in there went together so well. Everything is delicious there, though. I also tried the featured Peach Thyme Lemonade and absolutely loved how it wasn’t overly sweet. They also have a bakery section full of fresh breads, pastries, and cakes, which is a great to-go option for some local bakery goods. It’s worth noting that it gets very busy here often and thus tends to get loud.

Such a gem of a local spot! Everything is so delicious with fresh ingredients. Also, the iced latte is easily one of the best around. It’s clearly a popular place, so the food can take a little while to come out—but honestly, it’s worth the wait for the quality you get. I’ll be back on a 'slow' morning when I can just soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a long, lazy brunch. Haha.
