MAKIMONO REVIEWS

We order from Makimono on a regular basis, and today we went into the restaurant to eat. Our dining experience was wonderful and they transformed our order into a beautiful boat platter. Our server, Vivian, was wonderful! Highly recommend this establishment.

All you can eat was a great experience for us. The dishes were tasty and fresh. There was no waiting, booths were clean and the staff was friendly. The robot servers stole the show and brought a smile to all of us. All in all a great experience.

Vivian is the best! Literally so nice and so sweet! She treated us so well and the food was so delicious! Truly recommend going to Makimono and asking for Vivian to be your server. She’s awesome!

the best Japanese good I've had yet in Durham! the service is quick and attentive, they made a minor error on my order and took it off my bill without me asking. the sushi is fresh and not super rice-y, the poke bowl was great, the only thing subpar was the bulgogi which was watery and didn't come with any of the typical accompaniments like rice or kimchi. overall though still a 5/5, just don't order Korean food at an Izakaya haha.

Amazing quality food! Came here with my sons and ordered a lot of dishes. Everything was very fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed the seared tuna which came with a small arugula salad, so refreshing! I had the fish cake soup and it was very flavourful and savoury. The rolls were wrapped tightly and sashmi very fresh. I am looking forward to coming back again soon.

Tuesdays are ideal if you want to go in for a quiet and private lunch :) Been my third time there. Portions are perfect, taste is great! Definitely worth going all the way from Whitby to Pickering for their sushi.

I’ve been eager to visit this spot since it launched in Ajax. I took my daughter there today, and we both enjoyed it. The Ajisen Spicy Ramen is the finest Ramen I have ever tasted. If you enjoy spice, you’re going to love it. The employees were very friendly and smiling throughout. A shoutout to Angel who waited on us. The food arrived swiftly and at the ideal temperature and portions size great.

Finally found an amazing Ramen place in Durham! What a gem of a place! You are greeted as soon as you walk in, and the servers are super friendly. The price point is very reasonable. The food is absolutely delicious. Definitely will be back here.

I had a great time at Ajisen Ramen! The staff were super friendly and made me feel really welcome. The food came out fast, and the ramen was exactly what I was craving, nice rich broth and the noodles were perfect. The whole experience was pretty chill, and I’ll definitely be back for more. If you're looking for good food and good vibes, this is the perfect spot.
