We discovered this Museum a little by chance during a walk along the Marina d'Aylmer. The aim being to go to the toilet, we took the opportunity to visit the museum. We were pleasantly surprised by the photos, historical objects and explanations about the history of Aylmer and its founder (Mr. Symmes).

Visiting MacKenzie King's summer cottages and residence offers an opportunity to understand better this most enigmatic Canadian Prime Minister and to see how the elite of the day spent their relaxation time. The guides are very knowledgeable. Walking through the meadow and in the woods, down to the waterfall gives a good appreciation of the Park of the Gatineau's beauty. We had a delightful lunch in the restaurant in the residence.

I came here with my 3 year-old nephew. Some of the activities were more suited towards school-age children, however there was plenty for him to enjoy! He particularly loved the room full of foam blocks and we could have easily spent most of our time in that room alone! He also loved all the cars and buses that he could drive . So much to do, and excellent for children with short attention spans. We went on a weekday morning and it wasn't very crowded at all, so he could enjoy everything.
