“Dr. David Fortin graduated from Sherbrooke University. He then completed his specialized training in neuro-oncology in London, Ontario, and Portland, Oregon. He is clinically interested in therapeutic manipulations of the blood-brain barrier and has developed expertise in performing this type of procedure. Dr. David Fortin is a dedicated neuro-oncologist who offers patients standard and experimental treatments. He holds a researcher-clinician grant from the FRSQ and has also performed the first blood-brain barrier manipulation procedure to treat brain tumours in Canada. Dr. David Fortin has published a series of articles in neuro-oncology literature and has expertise in treating specific pathologies. He has to his credit more than 130 publications and 160 scientific abstracts. He participated in numerous conferences on the national and international scene. Dr. David Fortin speaks English and French.

2025 Update: Dr. David Fortin was also one of three finalists for the Excellence Award from the Quebec College of Physicians in 2022. He is a full professor in surgery, radiobiology, and pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke.”

Waiting for my second brain tumor removal by Dr Fortin. I am so blessed to have found such a truly educated and genuine person that loves helping the people who need their help. I feel so well taken carre of and safe. I thank you Dr David Fortin for everything and giving me extra time.. thank you for dedicating yourself to people like us who need your smarts to help us live a little longer. Your truly a gem of a doctor.. Top notch!

I just want to say that Dr Fortin is one of the most human, down to earth, compassionate doctor we have ever met ! We got referred to him in the last month after we were told that there is nothing more than can do for my sister in Montreal who is battling small cell cervical cancer that is now spread to the brain . He has given us hope and she started therapy this week! Thank you Dr for your passion and devotion!

This Dr is taking care of my brother who has brain tumor and Dr David Fortin is taking good care of him. I thank him very much to make is life livable even if we know that he will leave us. Thank you.

J'ai été opéré pour un neurinome , tout ce que je peux dire en deux mots : c'est La crème de la crème. Merci pour tout et à tous.

Mon conjoint a été référé au Dr. Blanchard pour retirer une masse près de la colonne vertébrale. Un docteur super calme, rassurant et qui prend le temps de répondre à nos questions. L'opération s'est super bien déroulée et Dr. Blanchard est venu voir mon conjoint, tous les jours de l'hospitalisation (5 jours). Docteur très compétent qu'on n'hésiterait pas à référer.

J'ai été opérée par le Dr Jocelyn Blanchard avec le Gamma Knife pour 2 métastases au cerveau. Lors de ma rencontre préparatoire le Dr Blanchard m'a donné des explications claires et précises et répondu à mes questions. La journée de l'intervention il m'a mise en confiance aussi avant, pendant et après l'intervention. J'ai donc de très bons commentaires pour le Dr Blanchard et toute son équipe sans exception dont Sophie et toutes les autres tellement humaines, attentionnées et expérimentées. Merci. J'ai rencontré le Dr Blanchard en septembre pour la névralgie du trijumeau. Il a analysé mon IRM et trouvé un conflit artéro-veineux ce que le radiologiste n'avait pas vu. Il m'a opérée quelques mois plus tard et je n'ai plus aucune douleur. J'aime beaucoup ce médecin, il est calme et gentil, on a pas peur de lui poser des questions. Ses compétences m'ont permis de vivre une vie normale aujourd'hui, je le recommende vivement. Merci Dr Blanchard.
