“Maryboro Lodge Museum is a volunteer-maintained community museum that showcases artifacts, artworks, and immersive projects reflecting how people in the Kawarthas lived, worked, and played. The two-story, square-timber house originally featured two large parlours, a dining room, and five bedrooms. Maryboro Lodge was notable for displaying the Wallis crest on each of its three gables and was recognized as one of the region's prominent homes of its time. The museum offers free admission for children and features the Maryboro Lodge Virtual Museum, which includes special events and a local history archive accessible to all ages.

KAWARTHA SETTLERS' VILLAGE REVIEWS

This was such a fun place to walk around and learn about the history of the area. The admission price is reasonable and it has so many interesting pieces of the past. Our 2 year old loved the animals (goats, ducks, chickens and bees)! It's so lovely to see all the ways they are still using the buildings, they have themed evenings and a quilting club. We'd love to come back and check out a movie in the barn or the Halloween activities. We arrived later in the day and the staff was so accommodating as they started to close up for the day. They even opened one of the buildings (the oldest in KSV) for us to take a quick look before we left. The kindness of the staff made an already lovely place to check out that much more enjoyable.

This is a great place to walk around and experience a glimpse into the past. Kids and adults alike can enjoy looking at old homes, a school, and many old buildings equipped with the tools of the day. I especially like their annual Festival of Trees to get me into the Christmas mood. They also have a fantastic Halloween night for kids.

Amazing price! Free parking, fun for kids and educational. Can actually sit in the school house, draw and pretend to be in class. My little kids loved it!

MARYBORO LODGE MUSEUM REVIEWS

This is an incredibly sweet aspect of Fenelon Falls and so much fun for family and kids. They have an entire yard filled with life-sized interactive games that adults and kids alike can enjoy for hours and hours. I have spent hours here playing with my nephew. Stay in tune with Maryboro Lodge to find out about their events as they have a lot of special events going on throughout the summer.

Maryboro Lodge Museum is a wonderful place by the beach to spend time with kids and family. The staff are amazing people. The museum has lot of ancient history for everyone. All the ancient materials were well maintained for next generation. Kids has lot of indoor and outdoor activities. The museum is by the beach, also there is splash pad near by to chill out. The entry to the museum is free.

Our happy place! Just perfect for kids and a family outing. The staff is so warm and welcoming. Games and crafts for kids, tea and coffee for adults. Outside there's a wide variety of games for kids and inside a collection of stories about the early days of Fenlon Falls. Don't forget to leave a donation so we can keep enjoying this gen of the Kawarthas every year. Open every day in July until Labour Day long weekend.

KAWARTHA LAKES MUSEUM & ARCHIVES REVIEWS

We wanted to know more about the City of Kawartha Lakes and the surrounding towns and villages. Lindsay has a very rich history and more people should pop in and visit this gem. The museum is housed in the old Lindsay Jail, but there are so many stories about the founders of Lindsay, the settlers, the many industries and Lindsay's contribution to society, history and importance to the surrounding area. Well worth the time and we will be returning to learn more. Clarence, our guide, did a great job communicating the many stories and his life experience with town characters and buildings. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Thanks Clarence!

My mother took me here, years ago when they had a garage sale through the back, they were transitioning and cleaning out the gaol. IIt was such an amazing learning experience for both me and my mum, speaking with the staff and volunteer staff who spoke about the gaol. They had these black t-shirts with a logo, and said Lindsey Gaol. I believe my mum still has the t-shirt. It was an incredible Saturday that weekend, and an amazing experience.

It's definitely a must-go place to visit. The knowledge of the staff is incredible! You'll learn a lot while you're there.
