The Butchart Gardens comprises a collection of floral display gardens encompassing 22 hectares (55 acres). The vision for these remarkable gardens was set in motion by Robert Pim Butchart, and their development unfolded between 1906 and 1929. During this period, the gardens saw the transformation of their old tennis court into a picturesque Italian Garden, the creation of a captivating seaside Japanese Garden, and the blossoming of the fragrant and lush Rose Garden. Within the enchanting realm of The Butchart Gardens, numerous birdhouses dot the landscape, and visitors can observe a diverse array of birds, including parrots, ducks, and peacocks. The gardens are adorned with various statues, adding to their artistic charm. As you explore The Gardens, you will encounter more than 900 different plant varieties, with remnants of the original cement plant as a reminder of the site's industrial history. These gardens also feature millions of bedding plants, creating a truly captivating and diverse horticultural experience.

THE BUTCHART GARDENS REVIEWS
All I can say is that this place is incredible!!! The flowers, trees and landscaping are absolutely stunning! We walked around these gardens for about 4 hours and I feel like I could've definitely been there much longer. We also had a very nice lunch there right on the grounds. I highly recommend going here. You will not be disappointed.
The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking at times. It took us about 2 hours to admire the flowers and walk through. It was interesting to read the history of the gardens on the plaques.
Beautiful gardens and a great place to visit. The entrance and parking experience was the most organized I've ever experienced. BC Ferries could learn a lot here.
