Great museum. This is a real gem. The aquarium exhibit is interactive and the staff are super knowledgeable. The history of the area exhibit was interesting and really easy to be read and understand. The pictures were perfect. They had a temporary exhibit about ugly animals that was fun to walk trough. The highlight was the movie about the history of the fjord. I thought of skipping it because we were there late in the day but it was super fun and informative. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

It’s great that questions like how the fjord formed and why is the water in the river salty are answered after the visit. The history of the paper pulp and aluminum industry is also very interesting to see. Highly recommend to visit.

Really nice museum which gives you more insight into the history of town and Quebec. Happy we started our trip to Saguenay with this as it gave us a lot of color on the area and it’s past. The people who work at the museum as super helpful and were so nice! They really took a lot of time and care and explained so many things to us in English. Highly recommend visiting.

Visiting from out of town. We saw the photos of the waterfalls on a trip advisor post. So we ventured here to view them. We found no waterfall. I think because it is summer. However, we did come across the old Mill behind here. It was very interesting! So we were pleasantly surprised. Even saw a local beaver.

Wish our tour would have been able to go inside museum. Very interesting area.

MUSÉE DE LA DÉFENSE AÉRIENNE REVIEWS

A stop at the Air Defence Museum was a great addition to our vacation in the Saguenay Fjord/Lac St. Jean vacation. We were not aware of the rich aviation history in the region. Interesting tour of the base but what you see really depends on what is going on at the base at the time (and tough to see through the decaled windows). Very cool and interesting outdoor exhibit - great collection of planes....esp to the military buff in our group. Enjoyed the indoor exhibits and the simulator as well. Our english guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Very much worth a minor detour and a couple of hours.

Worth cheking out in my opinion. There are quite a few planes on static display. Those includea CF-18 Hornet that that you can get right in the cockpit. There is also a small but good indoor museum with some interesting information about the history of the base as well as some very nice books about the base. Admission is free for Cadets, Military and Veterans, approximately $15 for civilians if I recall correctly.

A nice little museum with a lovely tour around the base. I had great help my own English speaking guide! Highly recommended.
