Expression Centre d'exposition de Saint-Hyacinthe has primary mission is to promote and disseminate contemporary art. Since 1985, it has been presenting exhibitions renowned for their artistic quality to the public. In addition to these exhibitions, it offers a range of activities, conferences, and publications. The artworks presented at Expression Centre d'exposition de Saint-Hyacinthe result from their creators’ research and theoretical exploration and reflect current aesthetic issues in Québec, Canada, and other countries. It offers educational services, publications, conferences, guided tours, and other mediation projects. The goal of all of these activities is to highlight the work of Canadian artists and make contemporary art more accessible to audiences of all generations, cultures, and beliefs. Starting in 2020, Expression Centre d'exposition de Saint-Hyacinthe accelerated the transition to addressing realities such as gender, cultural, and belief diversity, as well as awareness of the present and past realities of First Nations, notably by promoting the work of Indigenous artists and, more specifically, by making connections with the Abenaki community, which occupied the territory of Les Maskoutains before French settlers arrived and is still present and active. It currently comprises almost 200 contemporary artworks and 3,000 regional objects representing the farming and religious realities of the Les Maskoutains region and Québec.

Centre des Arts Juliette-Lassonde hosts professional performers, local performing arts groups, and visual arts exhibitions. The centre is particularly significant for the Les Maskoutains regional county municipality, which has a population of 80,000 people. Many nationally and internationally recognized artists have performed there. The center also hosts a variety of professional shows and events, both private and public, throughout the year, including indoor and outdoor activities.

2025 Update: Centre des Arts Juliette-Lassonde is a major cultural site for the Monteregian region. It accommodates professional artists, the local arts community in performing arts, and the visual arts community.
