“Dr. Bhavanesh Makanjee graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and completed his postgraduate training at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. He received membership and fellowship certifications in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. He is a member of the Canadian Heart Rhythm Society and a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He has participated in and completed an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Leadership at York University. 2025 Update: Dr. Makanjee is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has introduced cutting-edge technology, including irrigated catheters (for more effective ablation), intracardiac echo (for safer ablation procedures), active fixation pacemaker leads (which decrease the risk of lead dislodgement), and the Cryoballoon Atrial Fibrillation program (currently the largest such program in Canada). He is affiliated with Humber River Hospital in Toronto and Scarborough Health Network – Centenary Hospital in Toronto.”
