He is a member of the Canadian Heart Rhythm Society and a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He has participated in and completed an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Leadership at York University. He specializes in managing heart rhythm disorders, focusing on ablation, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular arrhythmias, and ventricular arrhythmias. Dr. Bhavanesh Makanjee participates in multicentre national and international research trials, particularly in patients with arrhythmias and heart failure.

2025 Update: Dr. Makanjee is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He has introduced cutting-edge technology, including irrigated catheters (for more effective ablation), intracardiac echo (for safer ablation procedures), active fixation pacemaker leads (which decrease the risk of lead dislodgement), and the Cryoballoon Atrial Fibrillation program (currently the largest such program in Canada). I have been very pleased with all the staff of Heart Health. I have NEVER come into contact with any of the staff to be rude or waiting for hours to have test done or my doctor. I even forgot to have a holter put on and they called and said i had to return and when i returned i walked in like a dog with my tail between my legs and they all had a laugh!! because i was bad!! They are great health care workers. From the front desk to the back back labs and offices, they are great. If you are nice to them then they are just as nice.

Dr. Makanjee and his staff were excellent during my procedure. He performed a catheter ablation 2 years ago and this has resolve my atrial fibrillations. My experience with Dr Mak has been extremely good. He is friendly, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He is a straight talker but very compassionate. I highly recommend him to anybody who needs catheter ablation. I am grateful to him for giving me back my confidence. We need more doctors/specialist like him.

I had AFib for the past 5 years and my Cardiologist refered me to Dr Makajee who did the Ablation one year ago and I haven't had an attack since. He very carrying and explains everything about the procedure. Also the operating room staff were great. Thanks for the great job. It certainly has greatly improved my quality of life.

Dr. Burnstein helped my mom when pretty much every other doctor had no options to offer her. He is extremely knowledgeable, always looking for solutions that best fits his patient, he is kind and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Dr. Burnstein for your help.

Dr Burstein has been awesome with me, then my husband and now my daughter. You may have to wait a bit but the wait is well worth the care.

Very professional, kind, knowledgeable staff. Probably the best experience in a medical testing facility one could imagine.
