Best Endocrinologists in Ajax, ON

Had my first appointment with Dr. Providence today, and I'm extremely thankful to have been referred to her. The staff was very helpful and attentive on my arrival and quickly and efficiently signed me in. Within minutes the medical assistant had me in to discuss my medical history and record my current medications. Then came the best part, meeting a specialist who was willing to listen and chat comfortably about my medical needs. Dr. Providence is a glowing example of a doctor who truly cares about her patients, spends time and not being in a big rush. I will be seeing her again for a follow up visit in six months, a doctor's appointment I will actually be looking forward to.

Deeply unprofessional experience. I was referred to this office and had an appointment booked well in advance. Two days before my appointment, I called and left a message — no one returned my call. On the day of my appointment, I arrived and was downstairs in the building at 9:10 a.m. — 20 minutes before my scheduled 9:30 a.m. time — when I received a phone call from an assistant (not even the doctor) informing me that this practice does not accept Type 1 diabetic patients. This is completely unacceptable. This information was known well before the day of my appointment. A referral takes time to coordinate, and someone in this office had every opportunity to review my file and notify me in advance — including when I called two days prior and received no callback. Showing up only to be turned away at the last minute, after taking time off and making the trip, is a failure of basic patient care and office management. The least that could have been done was a timely call from the doctor themselves, not a same-morning cancellation through staff. I would not recommend this office to anyone, particularly those with complex medical needs who deserve to be treated with respect and basic courtesy. - Kyla Lovell Reply
