“Dr. Shannon Bligdon earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Western Ontario before moving to Boston to study Optometry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry. Following that, she completed a residency focusing on Cornea and Contact Lenses. Before joining Ajax Eye Care, she served six years on the faculty at the prestigious Massachusetts Eye and Ear Specialty Hospital, where she also taught Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Shannon Bligdon brings extensive knowledge and experience to Ajax and the surrounding communities. She is dedicated to providing thorough routine exams and emergency eye care for patients of all ages. Her primary expertise lies in specialty contact lenses, an area she has studied, practiced, and taught for over a decade while living in Boston, Massachusetts. Currently, she is practising at Ajax Eye Care. They strive to provide the best quality of services that the community of Ajax has grown to expect from them over 40 years.
2025 Update: Dr. Shannon Bligdon offers all types of specialty lenses for dry eye disease, keratoconus, corneal transplant, corneal scarring, high or irregular astigmatism, aphakia, radial keratotomy, post-LASIK ectasia, ocular trauma, and graft versus host disease (GVHD). Ajax Eye Care offers direct billing to most major insurance providers.”
