DR. NAVIN PRINJA AVIS
I’ve been seeing Dr Prinja twice a year since 2017. I have a chronic medical condition, and the follow ups are necessary to make sure that it’s not getting worse. Dr Prinja is very personable, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer any questions I have. The absolute icing on the cake though is when I called his office for a non-urgent issue and left a message. I wasn’t expecting an immediate call back so when it reached the end of the day without a return call, I wasn’t surprised or concerned. I WAS surprised when he called me back at 8PM that evening. He answered my question via phone and made sure I didn’t have any other questions - well after his practice had closed for the day. I owe my quality of life to Dr Prinja. Before seeing him, I was miserable, but he’s helped to manage my condition and symptoms.
I was able to get in to see him after a phone consult. He had an idea what might be the problem over the phone-- but wanted to be sure in person. The wait for an appt after initial consult was frustrating, but no fault of his own. Canadian health care is a joke and he's flooded with referrals from doctors who are simply too lazy/inexperienced to do their job. He fixed my issue within 5 mins-- my ear is immensely better and turns out I did need to see him in person.
I also waited a long time to see Dr. Prinja for a non-urgent but painful problem, and the wait for the only other ENT in North Bay is the same. From the way he spoke to me and how he explained my situation I have every confidence in his abilities to determine what the problem is and what or what not to do about it. His "receptionist" has always been polite and helpful. Maybe if we could attract more ENTs to North Bay, the wait would not be so long, and the number of people these doctors have to see could be reduced - which I think would be good all the way around. Be prepared to listen to what Dr.P. has to say, and he will give you time to ask specific questions... would probably give even longer if not so many patients being sent to him and waiting their turn. Good doctor!
