3 Best French Restaurants in Barrie, ON

My family loves this place! It is our go to when we want to have a nice dinner out together. The staff is always lovely and the food always feels like it could have been homemade ( I mean that as a compliment). Some of our favourite dishes are the Chicken Marsala and their Bruschetta. I also finally decided to try their peppercorn filet last night and it was so good, easily better than The Keg. Anyways, I just felt like I've enjoyed myself enough times at Scotty's that I should leave a review. Eating out is a lot these days so I really appreciate it when the food is of this quality and the staff is this caring! Love it :)

Lovely meal with my out of town guests. All four of us found our meals to be delicious and generous portions. We all took leftovers home. Our guests complemented us on this restaurant choice. Never had a bad meal here. We had the ribs, wings, the smothered chicken and the bourbon chicken. All superb.

Amazing! 10/10 the owner is so kind, patient and absolutely loving! We had the chicken bacon penne, and let me tell you, my 6’4 heavy set man could barely finish it!! Such a large quantity for a good price! Will def be coming back!

Capped our day off in Creemore at Chez Michel. Looked like they were just opening, but we were immediately greeted by the friendliest of waiters—pardon me, servers. Young guy, but seasoned beyond his years. He made the whole experience that much more. We just had a couple of snacks and a half-litre of wine. He explained the specials—food was OK. That said, given what this town already is—and what it’s clearly on the cusp of becoming—it might be time for the kitchen to level up just a bit. That’s all I’ll say for today. Also appreciated the wine being served in a boccalino. For those who don’t know what that is, look at my image or look it up—it’s a little ceramic wine jug, often used in parts of Europe. I once worked at a place in Edmonton called Boccalino, so it hit a soft spot. This one was likely made locally. I wanted to snafu it—but didn’t. Could’ve asked if they sold them. Would’ve bought one if I had. Next time.

Food was absolutely delicious. You can taste and see that Chef Winston used fresh ingredients and took the time to prepare a wonderful meal. Was very impressed and still thinking even the day after of the flavours we got to experience. Will definitely head back to Chez Michel to try the other items on the dinner menu. Also Derek was very friendly, welcoming and made our time there fun. You can see he is passionate and knowledgeable about the food and making our dinner there a fantastic experience.

Came during lunch time and had the Montreal Reuben sandwich and the lunch special (Winston salad and BLT sandwich). Very good portion sizes and tasted wonderful.
