RESTAURANT LA CUISINE REVIEWS

My wife and I were touring in the Chicoutimi area for a few days. We like all foods from eclectic casse-croûtes, to gourmet terroir restos. In the latter category your options are limited from the research I did. Thankfully, 'La Cuisine' is such a place. Located in the old downtown of Chicoutimi, it occupies a nice space with convivial lighting, tables and a bar on one side. The menu selections are varied enough to provide for most people to find items to meet their desire. The local meats, fish and supplementary ingredients are what really let's you embrace that you are not in a run-of-the-mill restaurant. The wine list favours French offerings, but also has a very good selection of Italians as well. The preparation and presentation of the courses was creative, but not excessive. We enjoyed, Wapiti (Elk) carpaccio, Mussels with Wagyu chorizo, Duck breast, and Venison... a totally satisfying meal and one worth the visit.

If there is more than 5 stars I would give it more than 5 stars. Nice warm contemporary ambience. Super friendly helpful polite staff and servers. The food is cooked perfectly. Fois gras is so delish. Duck is very tasty with a mixed of sophisticated tastes. Renaud did an amazing job taking care of all the customers! This will always be my dinner stop in Saguenay.

Excellent wine selection - i had a Hungarian red (from Dúzsi Tamás, Szekszárd) which was the best red i had in a loooong time! Great food quality from local produce, prepared expertly. Worth a visit.

These guys are good. Great friend staff. Cutest BnB with amazing views.Felt cozy like in a cottage by the water I was here from Toronto (in January) with a friend, and we both ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. (and the city) Great experience. I hear summer is the best time to visit.

Service was perfect, food was fantastic. The best steak i’ve had in the Saguenay area. This restaurant is a must if your looking for hidden gems.

Delicious. Attentive service. Chef is an artist. We will be back even if the prices doubled. Unbelievable value.

Excellent meal, sitting at the bar and being able to watch the cook who does everything ALONE! Its preparation and execution is exemplary, as is the waitress who also does all the service and cocktails alone. Most efficient mini team, well done! Excellent and original rabbit saddle, well-executed halibut, very well-made starter of squid, scallops and bourgots, fresh salad… we recommend.

A very talented chef. I discovered venison flank steak with market vegetables. Exemplary cooking for meat and cooking for vegetables allowing you to discover real flavors. I recommend the gourmet gourmet to come and discover this very good restaurant. Hats off to the chef who in France would certainly be starred.

This place is a gem. Food is local and wonderfully prepared, on par with some of the best places in a large city.
