“Dr. Suma Shastry Satya obtained her medical degree from the University of Sydney, Australia, before specializing in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Manitoba. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics & Gynecology, she completed a fellowship program in minimally invasive gynecological surgery at the University of Toronto. She joined Horizon's Saint John Regional Hospital in 2009. Her clinical interests encompass gynecological surgery. In 2009, she led the first total laparoscopic hysterectomy in New Brunswick, a minimally invasive surgery to remove the uterus.

Dr. Sheppard is such a good doctor. I had such an amazing pregnancy and c-section experience with him as my OB. You can tell he really cares about his patients and does everything he can to help when you need anything. My c-section was also great and the scar looks good and everything went well. He is the best doctor I’ve ever had in Saint John.

I've had doctor sheppard for my three previous pregnancies, and will be seeing him again soon for my fourth! Him and the staff at his clinic are wonderful! Always a friendly atmosphere. Dr sheppard is very knowledgeable, honest, and truly seems to care about his patients.

Truly an amazing doctor! Very respectful, kind, listens, just all around amazing! If I have another baby, he is my #1 choice!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. My first appointment was within a week of my call and I have had a number of appointments since that time ... I have had absolutely no concern with punctuality and have never felt rushed. Dr Satya has been very helpful in explaining the solution to my situation. I found Dr Satya to be very knowledgeable and her explanations have been very clear. I have complete trust in Dr Satya.

I was having terrible issues and needed a complete hysterectomy. This doctor was kind, patient, very knowledgeable and understanding. Surgery could not have gone any better and I highly recommend her to anybody that is in need of an incredibly talented doctor and surgeon.

Love Dr Satya. She explains everything and helps you understand. She is very gentle and explains to detail what she is doing. There should be more doctors like her here in nb.

Was referred to her on an emergency basis and i can’t say enough good things, she went above and beyond for me when it came to labor and delivery time and i’ll never be so thankful she was my obgyn. Such a good doctor and will recommend to anyone that wants a thorough doctor, she was a godscent and i’m so thankful she’s part of the SJRH, she made sure everything went smooth and got my first baby here safely!! :) will never be able to say enough good things about this lady!!!!

Had Dr. Patterson for my last pregnancy, I was a VAMA lol, everyone was awesome, Dr. Patterson knows her stuff, would highly recommend her she is a great person and an awesome Dr.

Absolutely fantastic. Appointments can run about an hour behind but given the fact that I got an appointment 3 days after my referral.. I can’t say enough good things :)
