"Minnekhada Regional Park was designated as a Wildlife Watch site. The park covers over 200 hectares with trails and abundant trees. Minnekhada Regional Park features three primary trails, including Quarry, Mid-Marsh, and Lodge/Fern Trails, each spanning 5.2 kilometres. The serene trail network offers great hiking and wildlife observation opportunities, with signs at every junction for easy navigation. The park also includes five lookout points. The trails are suitable for all ages, including seniors. Minnekhada Regional Park features several live-animal native exhibits, a children's play area, various wildlife viewing areas, and a Nature Shop. The park is open to the public throughout the year. There are two main entrances to the park with parking facilities.

Coquitlam Crunch Trail is a steep hiking and fitness trail to a 794-foot plateau with more than 890 steps and exercise equipment. "Coquitlam River Park is a 165-acre municipal parkland that features walking trails extending for 9.8 kilometres. There are several swimming holes along the river for hot summer days. MINNEKHADA REGIONAL PARK REVIEWS

This is a very fun hike. Last summer we were surprised by a bear cub who jumped out of a tree right in front of us. If you want to hike to the lookout, park in the lot off Quarry Road. Keep left for an hour and a half hike to the lookout and through the marsh. Last weekend it was extremely muddy and will be for some time with all the run off. Good for all levels but parts can be challenging and very slippery. The marsh is full of cool creatures and lots of turtles and frogs. Mating season is interesting with the frogs competing for attention they make lots of noise and bob they’re heads up and watch you, it’s pretty funny. Get out and enjoy this beautiful park.

Lovely hike, have done it many times. I like the high knolls, not to strenuous. About 5-6km total. There was a beaver dam and beaver we could see, plethora of birds & beauty. My tip would be to be careful for parking lot gate closure times. We went in a cloudy day here in Feb. The views are stunning in the spring & summer and with that.. some crowds too! Worth it.

Beautiful park for an easier hike. Lots of parts of the trail are not even ground and there is one steep hill. Best to wear hiking boots. WARNING LOTS OF BEARS IN THE AREA. Be prepared with a whistle, horn and/or bear spray.

Love the Crunch. Great work out no matter your fitness level. I'm working myself back into shape so it takes me awhile to get up and down. There's lots like me while others are running up or making multiple trips. Regardless, great satisfaction once you reach the bottom.

It is a fantastic place to burn your calories. You have two ways to use. Either way to go up and come down. Total of 2.25 km from the beginning. Ample parking spaces in two locations. The availability of toilets with running water is also a notable feature. Found separate bins for dog waste and garbage but no place for recycles.

COQUITLAM RIVER PARK REVIEWS

I walk these trails regularly. The trails aren't too overcrowded and the tree cover is good for all seasons; keeps the rain off in inclement and shades from the sunshine on those hot days. There are a number of swimming holes along the river as well for those sweltering summer days. In the last year and a half these areas have been overrun with people due to travel restrictions. Hoping this summer is a little calmer.

This is a beautiful huge park with many winding trails to go hiking, this is a good place to bring dogs for a walk and children although keep an eye on them it is a large Park, Also has the river running through it and a small lake. Feels more like walking through the forest than being in park. This is easily one of the nicest parks in the Lower Mainland.

One of Coquitlam’s finest park asset for trail walking, running, or river tubing! On a hot summer day, this is the place to go for some shade and cool by the water. There are no washroom facilities around but there is a portable toilet located in a parking area near Coquitlam River Park by Shaughnessy St.
