Minnekhada Regional Park was designated as a Wildlife Watch site. The park covers over 200 hectares with trails and abundant trees. Minnekhada Regional Park features three primary trails, including Quarry, Mid-Marsh, and Lodge/Fern Trails, each spanning 5.2 kilometres. The serene trail network offers great hiking and wildlife observation opportunities, with signs at every junction for easy navigation. The park also includes five lookout points. The trails are suitable for all ages, including seniors. Minnekhada Regional Park features several live-animal native exhibits, a children's play area, various wildlife viewing areas, and a Nature Shop. The park is open to the public throughout the year.

2025 Update: There are two main entrances to the park with parking facilities.

2025 Update: Coquitlam Crunch Trail is a 2.2-km route with over 240 metres in elevation gain. During busy summer months, it sees as many as 52,000 visits per month (2018). Coquitlam Crunch Trail is a steep hiking and fitness trail to a 794-foot plateau with more than 890 steps and exercise equipment. The trail is suitable for walking, jogging, hiking, and even has sections for stair repeats, providing a rewarding fitness experience for users of varying fitness levels. Coquitlam Crunch Trail has Kid-friendly hikes and allows dogs.

Coquitlam River Park is a 165-acre municipal parkland that features walking trails extending for 9.8 kilometres. There are several swimming holes along the river for hot summer days. The park offers plenty of trails on both sides of the river, ideal for biking, walking, and running. The park is well-maintained with lush greenery, making it perfect for children to play. Adults can relax with benches and pavements throughout the grounds. The park is situated along an ancient river, a tributary of the Fraser. Coquitlam River Park offers a unique experience each season, making it a great place to observe seasonal changes. Visitors can easily spend half a day hiking along one side of the river, crossing over, and walking back on the other. This is truly one of the best places to witness the beauty of changing seasons.
