“Kelso Conservation Area is owned and maintained by Conservation Halton and covers an area of 3.97 square kilometres and includes Lake Kelso. Kelso Conservation Area provides three exclusive resources for climbing. Visitors can enjoy 20 campsites, 18 reservable picnic sites, and two mixed-use camping and picnic sites. Kelso Conservation Area has main, grand, and side trails. This refuge is suitable for walking and running, and a little steep at times for biking. The park also features marked mountain biking and hiking trails. Paddle boats, stand-up paddleboards, and kayaks offer a pleasant way to view the changing colours mirrored on the water.

“Hilton Falls Conservation Area is a well-maintained nature preserve with hiking, biking, ski trails, and the ruins of an old mill next to a waterfall. Visitors can explore the Hilton Falls trails and discover incredible water features such as the falls, rivers, and reservoirs. Hilton Falls Conservation Area also features excellent biking and walking trails. The park has wide-open nature paths, ponds, and creeks. You can see snails and minnows if you get close to the water. The park spans 645 hectares and provides mountain biking and cross-country skiing. Hilton Falls Conservation Area has wonderful scenery and fantastic natural greenery.

RATTLESNAKE POINT REVIEWS

I love coming to this trail all-year round! Located along the Bruce Trail, there are plenty of side trails for every level of hiking. It isn’t too far away from Toronto, but it is well-worth the drive. You are rewarded with beautiful views across the Nassagaweya Canyon, where you can spot Turkey Vultures flying above. We hiked from Rattlesnake Point to Crawford Lake (and back), which was a 10+km hike and moderate difficulty.

Absolutely breathtaking! This place nestled atop a peak offers stunning scenery that's second to none. It's perfect for hill climbing, trekking, or simply enjoying leisurely walks amidst nature's splendor. A must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable outdoor experience.

I really love Rattlesnake Point. Of all the conservation areas on the escarpment this one is the most active. It is home to responsible climbers, trail runners, hikers, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts all functioning together in relative harmony.

KELSO CONSERVATION AREA REVIEWS

This conservation area is a scenic paradise with numerous trails which are particularly enchanting during the fall. The vibrant autumn foliage offers an impressive picturesque view. There is also a chairlift but it has minimum height restrictions so kids shorter than 42 inches are not able to ride. Our little one was quite disappointed upon learning that he fell short of the chairlift's height requirement. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic location that warrants multiple visits to fully enjoy all the diverse trails it has to offer.

There is so much to do here! Whether it's on the water, hiking, cycling, rock climbing, or just plain old picnicking, there's something for everyone. They even have adventure areas for the kids (wooden tower with rock climbing, suspended adventure course). So many things I can't mention them all, you have to check it out yourself.

Clean, well maintained, dog friendly and beautiful recreational park with lots to do. Trails to walk, kayaking, bbq/ picnic areas that you can rent and have your own private party. Worth visiting.

HILTON FALLS CONSERVATION AREA REVIEWS

Hilton Falls offers a serene escape into nature with its picturesque trails and cascading waterfalls. The hiking paths are well-maintained, making it accessible for all skill levels. The falls themselves are breathtaking, especially during the spring thaw or after heavy rainfall. It's a perfect spot for a day trip or a weekend getaway, with plenty of opportunities for picnics and birdwatching. Overall, Hilton Falls is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Large area for walking & hiking. Difficult to explore the area in single day. Fresh air, nice landscape, serenity. It's better to get advance online reservation. Nice place to spend time specially for young strong people. Rocky roads may be difficult to carry stroller, so who have little infants may not enjoy here. You need to take plenty of foods & drinks with you while exploring.

A fun, easy hike. Did the Hilton Falls and Beaver Dam trails, all in all 12km in about 2 hours. There were some sections with quite a few mountain bikes, but mostly on the Bruce trail.
