The restaurant has a variety of menus such as tempura, appetizers, makimono, maki, sashimi, and more. Their unique dishes are akami, chu-toro, o-toro, and uni. Japonais Bistro uses quality ingredients from both local and Japanese suppliers. Their Japanese miyazaki wagyu is cultivated without additional hormones and antibiotics, and hot stone wagyu is stone grilled and served with wasabi tare, Himalayan salt & steak sauce. The restaurant is an excellent, busy place where they offer some dishes not found elsewhere in town. The themed restaurant on Tokyo Street will fulfill your cravings for sushi, ramen, rice bowls and good alcohol. Their open kitchen and enormous bar show how Dorinku handles the freshest local vegetables and meats. Its incredible ability to transform local ingredients into authentic Japanese flavours certainly sounds like a treat. Their lunch menu is quite affordable and worth it for the portion sizes you get. Customers can enjoy authentic Japanese street food without having to travel to Japan. They have high chairs for kids. They serve great cocktails and vegetarian dishes.”

This fun Japanese restaurant and bar focuses on a positive restaurant experience. The decor is traditionally Japanese, with many wooden decorations and dim lighting. Their seafood menus are fresh and of high quality. Tomoya is the owner of Izakaya. He and his team ensure they deliver the authentic Japanese Izakaya experience possible. Their tone yaki comprises an omelette filled with shaved pork and cabbage and topped with mayonnaise-type sauce. Izakaya Tomo Japanese Tapas Bar has a QR code system allowing users to view the menu and pay. You will always be welcomed with a large variety of alcoholic beverages as well as delicious meals to go with it. They have wi-fi and have huge chairs for the kids.

The food was amazing! Definitely reccomend any of the pressed sushis, we ordered more of them after. The cabonara udon is interesting and very creamy. Had the lychee cocktail which was really nice! The server was very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining any questions we had. It was my friend's birthday and they were gifted a little free dessert with a sparkler! The ambiance is nice and cozy, the washrooms were also well kept. Will come again.

A nice place to enjoy some fresh and authentic Japanese food. We ordered some Mixed Sushi, Chicken Karaage, Ishiyaki Beef Bibimbap & Ramen Salad. Everything tasted delicious and food was served rather quickly. Server was very friendly and polite. Ambience was lively.

One of our all time favourite neighbourhood spots! The TNT pressed sushi, shaka shaka fries, agedashi tofu, and sashimi are our all time faves — you gotta get the fries!!! We’ve become regulars at Dorinku over the years & it has a special place in our hearts. Always the best vibes & best servers - Hi Sarah!!

I just randomly walked in and I was greeted by the most welcoming staff. Very tasty sushi and fantastic service. I really enjoyed the wooden interior and also I was very impressed by the design and presentation of dishes. Cutlery and dishware were chosen perfectly as well. I will be visiting very soon. Sooner than you think.

Izakaya Tomo left a lasting impression with its incredible chutoro—remarkably fresh and flavorful. The ochazuke transported me back to Tokyo, evoking nostalgic memories. A dining experience that beautifully captures the essence of Japanese cuisine.

I've been here multiple times and every time the service, food and vibe has been amazing. I wanted to show my appreciation to this restaurant in particular because it is probably my overall favorite spot in all of Edmonton, I am grateful that they are here and I appreciate their level of effort to stay the top tier spot that they are! I can't wait to drop by again soon! <3.
