“Maru Japanese Restaurant is a down-to-earth restaurant focusing on sushi, sashimi, Japanese rice bowls & combo meals. The interior atmosphere is excellent, and the booths are separated so you can have your little spot to chat with friends. The seating at a private booth by the window makes the experience even more enjoyable. There are all sorts of Japanese artifacts, including lanterns and wall coverings. The sashimi is always fresh, and they have a great selection of special rolls. Savour their spicy tuna and salmon sashimi, chopped scallop roll, unagi roll and toro nigiri. Maru Japanese Restaurant offers dine-in, takeout and online booking facilities. They have a television in the restaurant to maintain a good customer vibe.”

Akane Japanese Restaurant is appropriate for a nice fish binge, although they could offer better deals with party trays and large orders. The chef takes time to add extras to your order. They almost always add a freeroll, which helps you to explore their menu better. Savour their chicken donburi, chirachi don, seafood yakisoba, kani sunomono, akane house salad, chicken donburi, and soft shell crab tempura. Akane Japanese Restaurant also offers dine-in, takeaway options and catering services. They accept debit cards, have a television and take reservations.

Highly recommend trying this place if you haven't. Service is great, food comes quickly and everything I've tried is fantastic. I would recommend the veggie broth if you've only tried one of the three miso based options. Rich full flavours.

10/10 would eat here daily if I could! Such good rich umami flavour , I’m not one for reg chashu so I’m so happy to have a chicken option much lighter broth ( not feeling sleepy after ) added crispy garlic and ordered Ajitama with black broth spicy ! The egg was cooked to perfection

Love! This is my favourite ramen place. It’s a small establishment, but the food is great and the staff are very friendly.

Really delicious sushi, miso soup, and SAKE! My husband comes with me willingly, and the cost factor is a huge part of that. We leave feeling refreshed and not overcharged.

Came here for my kids 8th birthday dinner and they ordered the Crazy Roll, which is a deep fried California roll. I also ordered the hot night roll and crunchy spicy tuna roll. Everything was excellent!! We made a reservation and they seated us in a private booth, which 100% added to our experience.

Went in for a quick bite, so I ordered the ramen. It bore a disturbing resemblance to nissins ramen but I can't complain as I was in a real hurry. The reason why I rated this place 5 stars is because staff is very friendly and I can see by the orders of the other tables that the food looks good. I'll definitely want to return and try other dishes, but avoid the chicken ramen.

AKANE JAPANESE RESTAURANT REVIEWS

This has become mine and my stepdaughters "place". We love it here. The atmosphere is mellow and low-key cozy with a pop of action figure/superhero vibe. Just so happens the food is awesome too. I got the Nabeyaki and she got the Crazyboy, a fried California Roll, with the Miso soup. It was all so delicious. But what we really love is that we have our table, we have our tea, we chat, we interact with our gracious hosts and enjoy some great food. It just feels like you're at home. I would highly recommend you check it out!!

Food and service 10/10! I ordered my food 10 mins in advance and said I’ll be there to eat for my lunch break, they had everything ready perfectly on time and fresh when I arrived! Thank you for the amazing experience and service!

We got takeout tonight and really enjoyed it. We ordered special tray D and based on the price ($50ish) compared to the trays for 4 people, we assumed it was for 2. We ate most of it, but could easily feed 3 people. Liked the selection of so many rolls! They were all pretty tasty. Highly recommend!
