“Alex Fraser Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in Delta, BC. The bridge connects Richmond and New Westminster to the North Delta in the Greater Vancouver area of British Columbia. Alex Fraser Bridge is built in a cable-stayed style over the Fraser River. The bridge was once the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world. Named after a former Minister of Transportation, Alex Fraser Bridge is 2,525 meters long with a 465-meter span and towers that rise to 154 meters. The southern end connects to Blaine and White Rock, while the northern end leads to Vancouver and neighbouring cities. The bridge has seven lanes, three in each direction, with the middle lane acting as a counterflow lane. Alex Fraser Bridge has a maximum speed limit of 90 km/h, and cyclists and pedestrians share two narrow sidewalks, one on each side of the bridge.”
