Dr. Philip Vrkljan completed his clinical training in ocular disease at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. I cannot say enough great things about Milton Optometry. I attended Milton Optometry and saw Dr. Phil (Vrkljan) with complaints of what I thought was blurriness in the lower part of my field of vision. Dr. Phil recognized very quickly that I was in the early stages of a retinal detachment and we needed to act quickly. He went to work immediately to get me the help I needed – within 4 hours I was sitting in the waiting room at St. Michaels hospital, waiting to be seen by the leading specialists in the country. This was extremely fortunate as, by the time they did the surgery (now just 9 hours from me walking into Milton Optometry), I was completely blind in the effected eye. What I will never forget, and will always be thankful for, was the way in which Dr. Phil dealt with me that morning. Although I was in an emergent situation, he was calm and confident in the way he spoke with me and that gave me the reassurance I needed in what was a very difficult and frightening time.

Ive been going to Milton Optometry for 6 or 7 years to see Dr Vrkljan. I have been exceptionally happy with the service. Dr Vrkljan is always very pleasant and professional. The staff have always been very pleasant and courteous. I have worn glasses since childhood and so having a good optometrist and good quality glasses are very important to me. So much so that I moved over an hour away and still travel back to Dr. Vrkljan for all my eye care. I am very happy with their service, care and their glasses. Would while heartly recommend Milton Optometry.

Went in for an eye exam yesterday, and I would definitely recommend Dr. V and his staff. The office is organized and Uber clean! Dr. V takes his time to explain things to you and doesn't rush you. He gave me free trials for my new prescription and even let me know he would take back any opened boxes of contacts if my prescription changed! Super convenient to order contacts by phone or online. The price is actually less through his office than elsewhere. I would definitely recommend Dr. V he is highly skilled and professional and makes you feel at home when you're in his chair. Thanks Dr. V!

I highly recommend Milton Vision & Sports Centre! Dr. Akerman is very caring, knowledgeable & professional. After trying many options at different eye care centres without success to treat my severely dry eyes Dr. Akerman fitted me with Sclera Lenses which have been amazing! He did many tests with the latest technology & took the time to explain test results, pros & cons of wearing these specialty lenses & taking accurate measurements so the lenses were customized to my eyes. I go for follow up appointments to make sure the fit & vision are good & he will make adjustments if needed. The staff is also very friendly, accommodating & knowledgeable! Calvin took all the time that was needed to make sure that I could put the lenses in & take them out properly. An exceptional Vision Centre!

Dr. Akerman is an excellent, very knowledgeable, thorough and always honest optometrist who works so well with all patients (including challenging toddlers) and everyone in this clinic is patient, polite and kind. I drive to Milton anytime an optometrist is required for my family of 5 and me, because I can't imagine better service anywhere else.

Dr Akerman and his staff have been exceptional in supporting my son through his recent myopia diagnosis and treatment. We cannot thank them enough for their knowledge, support, and kindness. I highly recommend Dr Akerman and his team!
