“Maple Ridge Museum & Community Archives is one of the most notable museums in Maple Ridge, BC. In the 1950s, charter members began collecting items, photographs, and records essential to the community's history. The public library became available for visitors in the museum showcase area, and the collection was stored in various basements and sheds around town until 1967. In late 1983, the Historical Society reconstructed the house. The museum was opened on August 6, 1984, with Sheila Nickols cutting the ribbon on BC Day. Maple Ridge Museum & Community Archives' main objective was to automate the collection records and create an indexing system to make finding objects and information more accessible.”
