“Riverside Park has numerous picnic fields, accommodating small to large groups. The park hosts various free nightly concerts, festivals and kids programs. Riverside Park looks like a beautiful and expansive park along the river in downtown Kamloops. The park has lots of open green spaces, big play structures for the kids, and other sports facilities. The park also has outdoor fitness equipment and picnic pavilions. There is also an off-leash dog park available. Riverside Park has wheelchair access and ample parking areas.

2025 Update: The park's facilities include an accessible water park, a playground, the Rotary Bandshell, and the Heritage House.”

McArthur Island Park has various amenities and features, such as sports fields, outdoor gym equipment and trails. The park features a great playground with logs, spikes, swings, slides and more equipment. There are also many soccer fields, baseball diamonds and paved pathways available. Visitors can enjoy a lot of river views along the path. McArthur Island Park has ample parking facilities.

“McDonald Park is a large and beautiful park with plenty of amenities for families. The park has a large open field for sports, a small water park and an attractive playground for small children. There is also a water spray park for children and adults, and it has a freshwater fountain. The park has outdoor playing equipment, covered picnic shelters, a kids' activity area and recreational activities. McDonald Park has various features, like a community garden and lots of entertainment for kids. This is a perfect place to have a picnic with family and friends with a relaxed, peaceful mind.

RIVERSIDE PARK REVIEWS

Great place for meet ups. Lots of (paid) parking. Playground is accessible! Communication boards, adaptive swings :) Waterpark, clean bathrooms, rental shop was super cool although we didn't use it, the staff member was friendly. The lake and beach were clean and my kids enjoyed a dip while I supervised from the bench seat. Lots going on all around.

Let the kids burn up all that energy. We arrived in April so the water splash park was not on. The playground is new and exciting with all sorts of climbing, zip lines and playground stuff. Paved walk along the water front. Clean restrooms st the playground area.

Awesome park, amazing water park for kids and a great play ground. Both are super cool with new equipment and different things I haven't seen at at park. Definitely worth a visit. Pack a lunch and stay for a while.

MCARTHUR ISLAND PARK REVIEWS

My favorite place for my daily walks! The park is very well maintained and has alot of amenities! My favorite thing about McArthur Island is seeing the deer, marmots, and beavers! The park is also well lit for winter season so 6pm walks are bright and safe! Dog-friendliness: Only service dogs are allowed at the park. Picnic area: Lots of benches, and shaded areas for picnics.

Really nice park to walk or bike. I use to live very close to this park so I visited it frequently. Animals, running water, greenery, people... It had many places to stop and rest. The squirrels in this park are very nice! When I would sit down most of the time I'd have a squirrel appear in my lap lol I loved it! This park has a bit of everything.

Had a great walk for about 2 hours, lots to see and do. little gym areas in the open air, with wildlife good for cycling, and jogging

I live a block away and walk a dog through there everyday numerous times a day absolutely love the park anytime of day it's awesome there's a water park playground basketball courts tennis courts dog park huge fields lots of trees grass picnic tables plenty for the whole family to do bring a picnic and snacks drinks and your set for the day Playground: Good size playground swing set apart from the actual playground Restrooms: Have never used them but they are there between the water park and dog park they are closed at night but available during the day Dog-friendliness: Dogs need to be on leash in the park but there is a separate dog park in the actual park where they can run free It's completely fenced there's a bowl with fresh water there's a water fountain for the people's that bring their pups beautiful little area inside a beautiful little park Picnic area: Lots of picnic seating beautiful.

McDonald Park has ample space and nice park. They have slides, swings, water/splash park, basket ball court, pickleball court and other stuffs for young kids. Also have separate dog park. Kids and parents can spend good time over there. This is place is good for morning walk as well. This place is good for family outings.

We had a wonderful event two weeks ago. The weather was fabulous and the turnout was great. The Kidney Foundation had their yearly Kidney Walk. We enjoyed a pancake breakfast, many volunteers and fundraising tables. Kids loved the spray park and fun was had by all! Thank you McDonald Park.
