“Lions Park has a large picnic shelter and is an excellent place to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. The park has a large playground, open field space for kite flying, outdoor fitness equipment, ten BBQ pits, picnic tables, outdoor exercise equipment, and recreational trails. The park provides outdoor fitness equipment, a social ice skating surface, a well-equipped playground, and campfire rings during the winter months. There are numerous sites throughout the park, each with a picnic table and barbecue pit. The large shelter is suitable for 50-60 people, has seven tables and has no charge for bookings. There are also lots of parking spaces available. Lions Park is an excellent place to walk or take family pictures.”

“Riel Recreation Park features lots of amenities like picnic tables, BBQ, firewood, walking and bike trails, playground, outhouses and more. There are also numerous sports fields and a campground beside the Sturgeon River. Riel Recreation Park is a great place to spend a sunny day. There is also a spot to put your boats/paddleboards into the water. The park has a Green Space Area and a playground, and plenty of parking facilities are also available. Visit Riel Recreation Park and enjoy a pleasant time with your family and friends. The park is located on the side of the road opposite the RV park and soccer/rugby fields.”

“Red Willow Park is a perfect place for kids to play and entertain. The park has covered picnic shelters, pavilions, baseball and tennis courts, and event conducting areas. The park hosts many community events, concerts and festivals. Red Willow Park has a wonderful spray park and kids' playground that are available for children to enjoy the day. Within Red Willow Park, youngsters can revel in a fantastic spray park. There is also a group shelter with a wood stove surrounded by ample green space. Visitors can enjoy the trails by walking, cycling, in-line skating, or running, including Wheelchair accessibility. Red Willow Park is a great place to take your family and friends.”

LIONS PARK REVIEWS

This Park is located in St. Albert. It's a great place , as there are many sports related arenas along this area and the Park itself is a great place for outdoor activities. I noticed many people utilise the beautiful and calm grounds for walking or to run in groups. There were a number of people with pets on leash exercising or just taking their pets for a walk.The park grounds have ample free parking space . There is an Aviation building besides the parking as well as a Curling center.

Can be busy as it is awesome. Can skate in the winter. Body weight outdoor circuit. Lots of events are hosted in the area. Playground: Kids will love it. Something for all ages. Restrooms: Kept clean. Dog-friendliness: Keep on leash but big open areas. Picnic area: Sheltered.

Was at the July 1st movie night with grand daughter. Nice playground equipment .Close to Sturgeon river. Great place to walk along trails. Lots of birds around, also close to downtown area.

RIEL RECREATION PARK REVIEWS

Loved the Borealis Light display. The lineup is long , but that's expected. If you want it to be faster , make sure you buy your tickets online before getting there. Be ready to be in your car for approx 2 hrs. Definitely worth it. Great experience.

It's always a good day to visit the boardwalk and viewpoint overlooking Big Lake. Rain or shine, there's beauty here. Bring a camera and bird seeds if you want to leave a treat for the birds.

Nice place for a walk picnic tables and bbq s available. access to sturgeon river for kayaking ect. We'll kept soccer fields.

RED WILLOW PARK REVIEWS

I don't have pic to add but I love this little spot along the hiway. Have stopped here now 4 times I'm the last 6 months with pups in training or transport. We always meet someone and their beautiful kids. The last time I stopped infact I met such friendly little girl I named my friendly little cockapoo after her. The park is a perfect stop to let your kids or dog out to run around, stretch your legs, have a picnic or soak up some sun and fresh air. Fall colors were beautiful and it's got an outside Biffy now that's pretty handy for those needing to make a quick pit stop.

This is my go to Sunday walk, grab a Starbucks coffee and hit the trail. There are bathrooms along the pathways so if you need it they are available. The path is paved and easy to walk. You are not walking on grassy trails so you are not stirring up mosquitos.

You never know what you might run into along these beautiful trails. Kilometers of paved and maintained trails, off leash access. Park behind Canadian Tire.
