By far the best place we ate at during our 9 day cruise. We like to try mussels when we travel to see how fresh they are and I have to say, In my opinion, the mussels here were some of the best we've ever had. The atmosphere is great. Service was superb.

Super accommodating staff. The food was excellent. Family friendly (although getting out stroller through the door was a challenge). Patient with our kids and long dinner. Food was excellent, some of the best pub food we ate in Saint John.

The sign hooked me in. Very relaxing atmosphere with a touch of pub charm. Many choices on tap and the menu offers lots of items. I just wanted a couple small things. The cheesy bread wasn't quite what I was expecting because it was actually some rolls, but still great. The corn/potato chowder was amazing. Great spot.

I recently dined at Saint John Ale House, and I have to say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was nothing short of amazing, and each dish left a lasting impression. Starting with the Wings, they were incredibly fresh and flavorful. They were so tasty that they didn’t even need any additional sauce, which is a testament to their perfect seasoning and preparation. The Oysters, while a bit on the pricey side, were absolutely worth every penny. Fresh and succulent, they provided a delightful taste of the sea that was simply unforgettable. The Fish and Chips were another highlight of the meal. The fish was fresh, encased in a superbly light and non-oily batter. The chips were crispy and cooked to perfection, and the accompanying tartar sauce was a delicious addition that enhanced the dish beautifully. To complement the fantastic food, the drinks were equally good, offering a refreshing balance to the rich flavors of the dishes. Overall, Saint John Ale House delivered an outstanding dining experience with top-notch food and great drinks. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal.

Very comfortable and welcoming place. Right on the water front, but there is construction right now so no outside seating. Nice menu, not overwhelming but something for everyone. We had the chowder, the mussels and fries, and the burger. Food was phenomenal. Everything was expertly seasoned and prepared. Enjoyed a red wine flight, which was a bargain, with three very good selections to savor. A gin and tonic variation was also just right. Service was fun and friendly. Prices very reasonable for the quality and quantity.

Very nice atmosphere, old brick building charm at the port Market Square, lot of wood and beams. Food and service is great along with a very good selection of drinks. Prices are according to the quality of food and service you get, also the prime location. We have been there several times and is always a place to go.

GAHAN HOUSE PORT CITY REVIEWS

Great food, super nice staff! We sat on the terrasse on Prince William St but there was actually a nicer terrasse on Water St. Ordered nachos, haddock tacos, fish 'n chips as a kid's meal (1 pc) and as a main meal (2 pcs).

Fast and friendly service. Exceptional food. The pretzel bites, chicken wings, and pork belly tacos were delicious and generously portioned. If you like sour beers, the raspberry sour was worth the trip.

Driving to Prince Edward Island from Boston MA. On our way, we decided to have dinner before continuing on...found this little Gem in St John's. NB. What a great place. Food and Service were awesome. Making a stop on our way back....Cheers Gahan! Well done.
