Blue Dragon Fine Thai & Khmer Cuisine

This was our first visit to the Blue Orchid and we will definitely come back again. It's is a small family run place but there were several people dining in and quite a few take out orders picked up while we were there. Service was friendly. We started with the Thai salad rolls. They had chicken and shrimp inside. The peanut sauce that came with them was really delicious. I had the Cambodian stir fry. The sauce was spicy with layers of flavor. The green beans were still crunchy and there was lots of chicken. The portion size was just right. My partner ordered the dragon bowl which comes with a spicy vinaigrette. The ingredients were tasty but he could smell my sauce. He asked the chef for a side of yellow curry sauce to mix into the noodles. It was exceptional.

Blue Dragon is consistently the best restaurant in Red Deer. Family owned, the chef is part of that family. The care and love put into their dishes is plain to see. Your hard earned money doesn't go into franchise fees but truly supports local. A large number of vegetarian and vegan options sit alongside meat-based dishes, so there is something for everyone. Variety, home cooking, plus a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I've never had a bad meal here. Give it a try for takeout as well! Thank you so much for the great food, Blue Dragon. Keep it up!

Excellent food and exceptional service. Thank you to the staff who helped us with our experience, the menu wasn't clear with some of the vegetables in their dishes. Staff were very accommodating and understanding.
