BJORNBAR BAKERY EDGEMONT VILLAGE REVIEWS

Yesterday I walked through Edgemont Village at night to look at all the beautiful lights and stopped in at a few of my favourite small businesses. I started at Kokomo and ended up at the other end of Edgemont Boulevard at Bjorn Bar. The pastries here are incredible and the atmosphere at Bjorn bar is perfect. It’s warm and inviting and they have a nice electric fireplace with seating around it. They did a really amazing job of decorating for the holidays. It looks like it’s out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. The young girl working recommended their mince meat tarts. It was delicious and a great choice for the holidays. I also really love their quesadillas, roast beef dip and their cherry turnovers. Bjorn Bar also has an incredible assortment of gourmet dessert bars.

I’ve been to many coffee shops and this one has the widest and best pastry selection. I’ll have to come back for the chocolate bombs. The croissant, quiche, and breakfast sandwiches were all yummy. I got an iced americano and it was really good! Loved that they offered plant-based milks. The matcha was just okay but better than starbucks. Nice bathrooms too and very accommodating and patient staff.

Such a gem. Love the decor as it feels more like a home than a coffee shop inside with the couches and decor. The coffee was excellent and strong. Pastries looked delicious but did not try any. Prices are slightly expensive and there is limited seating. Smaller than the Delanys or the Starbucks in the village.

LALEH BAKERY REVIEWS

We have been buying sweet treats from this bakery for almost a decade. They recently moved to a new location, and the treats are still as delicious as ever. The prices are good, too. I recommend trying a variety of sweets, especially their mocha roll. When ordering, you will first choose a box size (1 to 4), then you can select as many different sweets as you want. They weigh the box at the end, and you pay based on the weight, not the type of sweet. Their pirashki is also delicious, but they sell out quickly. If you go in the evening, they might be out. They sell pirashki by unit, not by weight.

LakeHouse is the Best traditional Persian shop in B.C. They make a selection of the best international pastries, including but not limited to French mille foie, Dutch cookies, German jam delicacies, Turkish Baklava, Swiss rolls, creme Pirashki & … All of their pastries are baked and prepared with Persian twist and the main ingredient in our kitchens which is love!

Recently visited this bakery and was amazed by their delicious Persian pastries. From flaky baklava to saffron-infused treats, each bite was bursting with flavor. Whether you're into traditional desserts or just want to try something new, this bakery is a must-visit. Highly recommend giving their Persian pastries a try!

BAD DOG BREAD REVIEWS

I went to Bad Dog Bread bakery after eating their delicious buns at Douce Diner. I bought a multi-grain bread and a blueberry pastry, both were so so good! I will definitely return to this bakery, as it really reminds me of the bread and pastry quality from Europe. I also enjoyed the atmosphere in the shop, as you could see how the bread and goodies are produced - such a hidden gem! Moreover, I really liked that they use organic ingredients and use no plastic material to wrap the yummy bakery treats - 10 out of 10!

Their 100% rye bread is dense and flavorful. This is not a recipe that is generally available from quality bakeries. So finding it at the bad dog bakery is a treat. I can't wait to try all their other breads. P.S. there is no bad dog. All dogs are good dogs!

One of, if not the best bakery in all of greater Vancouver. So happy to have found them! The sourdough is of course killer but the other baked goods like croissants, biscotti, cookies and Brioche are amazing too. This place is extremely passionate about what they do and take a very holistic approach to the process.
