BRENDA'S PLACE AND BAKERY REVIEWS

I had heard about Brenda's from a friend who rides motorcycle and he had suggested I try it out. The decor is a little worn and dated, but that only adds to the charm. I was seated and served by Brenda herself. I have worked in the food service industry before, and Brenda has a way that serves you which makes you feel like your part of the family. I got a skillet to begin with and it was very good. I have to admit that I am a bit of a butter tart nut, and Brenda's doesn't disappoint. I asked Brenda what butter tarts she had and she rhymed them off in the same manner you would expect a bartender telling you what they had on tap. I was truly impressed. I got a banana pepper butter tart? I love spicey food, and this was perfect. It was a great day for a motorcycle ride, and only made even better by stopping in at Brenda's. In one word - Awesome!

My friend and I stopped in here as part of our “chocolate trail” destinations and we were very glad we did! As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by a big hello from behind the counter. The sweetest girl was working behind the counter, it was very evident she has a strong passion for baking and the store as a whole. To top it off she made the BEST brownies - a true chefs kiss. Such a gem of a spot, if you are in Stratford this is a must stop!!

We had a lovely late breakfast here before seeing a play at the Stratford Festival. A special nod to the eggs Bennie and the date squares! People are lovely , place is well kept and the food great.

We actually had a chance to try Downie’s sourdough bread when we visited London. We bought a walnut sourdough bread and tried at home and it was great. Moist and soft inside with think crispy crust. Would definitely visit the location in Stratford.

Miss Linda at the counter is the best, she helped me to find what I needed! Not to mention the bread is very good, soft but nice crackle of the crust, I got the banquette and whole white loaf. A banquette cost $4 and a whole load was $5, very nice to have & to eat!

Best sourdough bread I've ever eaten! I bought black olive sourdough loaf and it tastes perfect, chewy and slightly salty from the olives. I highly recommend this bakery!!

VANN'S FINE BAKERY REVIEWS

Ever hear those stories about guitarists or athletes trading their soul for fame or talent. Thats the level of talent this place delivers, with baking! New to stratford. Discovered this place by accident about 10 days ago. Second visit today. First I'd like to point out, they bake in a proper oven. If you know, you know... We've had the house sourdough, the seeded sourdough, foccacia, cherry, everything and sesame bagels and now have something to look forward to tomorrow AM with the blueberry bagel at the owners recommendation. Everything they make is simply awesome. It's your new favorite bakery if it isn't already, my word! Very clean establishment with personable owners!

Went to the bakery once. I am from out of town, loved the baked goods. They do an excellant product. I have a sensitivity to commercially baked goods which causes me to take an inhaler. Since having the bread at Vann's, no issues. Truly organic high quality products. Thank you, I will be a loyal customer and have been sending my customers to your bakery.

Best bread and bagels ive had. Will be back for another round of baked goods. Owners are fantastic people providing great product at reasonable prices.
