DECIDEDLY JAZZ DANCEWORKS REVIEWS

I have been to many dance classes here over the years but over the last year have been coming weekly. This place fills me with joy. All instructors I have tried are so welcoming and encouraging. I don’t feel judged while dancing even if I don’t have the step right. I feel a sense of community and inclusiveness in the classes and look forward to the class each week. I also love that with a semester pass, you can change up which dance style you take each week. Highly recommend dancing here!

I have now seen a couple of their shows and been to one of their classes, and this place is amazing! I am not a dancer at all, but they have a great balance of pushing you and welcoming beginners with open arms. Their shows are also absolutely phenomenal. I love the way the honour and respect the history of each dance. There is a lot of talent here and it’s worth going!

Our family is at DJD a minimum or 3 days a week and we cannot say it loud enough...this is the best performing arts centre for both kids and adults, in Calgary. The staff, the instructors, and the beautiful spaces are bar none. We love this place like it's our second home.

SOUL CONNEXION REVIEWS

Soul Connexion is phenomenal! My oldest child has been dancing here for eight years, and her growth has been incredible. My younger child now dances there as well! The instructors are highly skilled and supportive, fostering both technique and confidence. The studio is clean, well-equipped, and offers a variety of dance styles. The sense of community is unmatched, making it a second home for us. Highly recommend!

We love Soul Connexion! It’s our first dance studio we’ve ever been to. We joined because of the free trial class. My 4 year old daughter tried one class and was hooked. It wasn’t until her recital today that I realized just how many other dancers go there and what a team effort all the teachers and staff put in to keep our dancers happy and learning new skills. It’s definitely a dance studio that feels like home. 5/5 recommend!

Our daughter has loved her last 2 years of dance at Soul Connexion, her teachers have been wonderful and her classmates great. This year she was lucky enough to have Miss Alissa for both her hip hop and jazz! We are looking forward to her summer class and the next season of watching her grow and learn!

FREE SPIRIT DANCE REVIEWS

We cannot recommend Theresa enough!!!! We booked her 5 hr package for our wedding first dance. In the midst of moving and graduating school, we completely forgot about our first lesson and left Theresa high and dry. We rebooked but then the weather was so terrible we had to cancel our second lesson only hours before. We felt TERRIBLE and offered many times to pay for the two missed lessons. We also expected Theresa not to take us on as clients following both mishaps (which would be very understandable). On the contrary, she reached out to us about rebooking a third time and declined payment for the two missed sessions. She was really flexible with booking times and our limited dance experience. She choreographed a MUCH more complex dance than we ever expected but made it so fun and easy to learn. My only advice to anyone hiring Theresa (DO IT!) is to make sure to tell your DJ NOT to remix your first dance song!!!!! Our DJ did and it totally threw off our choreography, but it all worked out in the end. That of course had nothing to do with Theresa and I credit our ability to keep moving through the song despite the remix to all her preparation and teaching. Everyone was complimenting our dance and asking about the choreography!

We booked in for 10 dance lessons so that we could learn something special for our wedding first dance and we could not have chosen a better dance studio!! Theresa was an absolutely amazing teacher. She met us at our level of dance, choreographed a fantastic, individual routine and made us feel so prepared and professional on the actual day. Every class felt like a little date night and was just so much fun. We even managed to learn a little more advanced choreography towards the end that really wowed and surprised our guests. We cannot thank Theresa enough for the wonderful memories and we would recommend her lessons to anyone considering lessons/choreo for their wedding first dance!

My husband and I had our first dance choreographed with Theresa. We are so happy we did! By the end of our lessons we were confident in our dance and everyone loved it! The lessons were such a wonderful experience. Thanks Theresa for all your work!
