We have been working with Jess at Balanced Behaviour Dog Training since before we brought our puppy Maeve home at 8 weeks old. We could not imagine raising a puppy without the consistent guidance and support that we have found in Jess - she has been our secret weapon to puppy raising. At numerous points throughout Maeve’s first year with us, people were shocked that a puppy could be so well behaved, calm, and neutral. This is all thanks to Jess. Jess has pushed us to be better handlers and dog owners, even challenging us to question some of our preconceived notions of balanced training methods. There has seldom been a week where I haven’t reached out to Jess with questions, concerns, improvements, and updates. She is always there to help you continuously progress on your training journey. Jess is not only an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled dog trainer, but she is also an amazing person. She is responsive, realistic, encouraging and empathetic. She explains things thoroughly and effectively, giving you tangible changes to implement and goals to work towards. Most importantly, we trust her unequivocally and without hesitation with our dog (which is saying a lot as we are helicopter dog parents!). Balanced Behaviour Dog Training made bringing home our rescue pup extremely manageable, fun, and more or less stress free! We were equipped with the skills and knowledge to build expectations and boundaries into our home right from the get-go and set our pup up for success. She is now an extremely balanced dog with tons of freedom, enrichment, structure, and because of that lives a very fulfilling life! Jessica is a master at what she does. Jess is great! She was there every step of the way from before we got our pup Bear, through his puppy phase and more! There is no one else I'd trust more for training and now boarding to keep up everything Bear has learned (including appropriate play). She has always been just a text away when I have any questions (I am never left guessing or confused) and always offers her honest opinion, which I value greatly!
