What a great little spot right on the dock. Mind you you have to eat outside. But who really cares that’s why we’re eating at this place. I had two piece halibut and the chowder … tourist prices.. but none the less delicious. There is the likelihood of a huge line. Great spot to eat your food outdoors.

A lovely place to get quick bites and also pocket friendly in a downtown full of pricey restaurants. We had the Salmon sandwich and the tacos. The taco isn’t sufficient if you are an hungry adult. But the sandwich is good enough. Try the fried pickles too. Later we tried the salmon chowder which was flavorful. The place is crowded. Not sure about parking since we were staying in downtown and this place was close by. Definitely a beautiful view .

Great dining experience all around!! We got the salmon fish and chips and wow it was wonderful - batter was light and crisp, fish was super fresh and chips were hot and crispy. We loved it so much that we came back the same evening. The line wasn’t long when we were there (after 4pm), orders took about 10mins. Outdoor seating only, very nice atmosphere to enjoy the great food overlooking the harbour.

BARB'S FISH & CHIPS REVIEWS

Barb’s Fish and Chips is an absolute must when visiting Victoria. My parents and I were in Victoria a couple of weeks ago (visiting from Winnipeg) and Barb’s was the first dinner stop we made. You can’t beat sitting by the ocean, eating hot, delicious, and fresh food, complete with friendly service. As a vegetarian I was thrilled to see a veggie burger on the menu, and it’s by far the best one I have ever had. My parents throughly enjoyed the fish and chips, and we also loved the iced tea. It was great to have many condiment options on the table as well; malt vinegar isn’t something you really see in restaurants in the prairies and it’s SO good on fries. Thank you for the very memorable time; we can’t wait to come back.

It is always a must to come here everytime we are in Victoria. Eating seafoods on a raft is a whole experience bu itself. The vibe is merry and festive. After your meal,go for a stroll along those colorful floating houses and at the very end of the deck you will read a sign that says…beyond this point is the Pacific ocean. With that thought I already feel closer back home to my native land the Philippines hahaha it feels like they are just an arm reach hahahah After our second visit in a row, me and my husband can safely say that we have fallen in love with Vancouver Island.

tasty foods and has a casual atmosphere would recommend as a nice outdoor meal. food is not greasy the chowder soup was sooo delicious definitely try it you will not be disappointed! and employees were so pleasant they make you wanna come back :) 10/10 experience.

No Frills! However, this family run business has it dialed in. Seriously classic fish n chips. It's the hole in the wall place that is off the radar for most. The menu is limited, they focus on Fish and Chips and hit it out of the park.

Oh man, do I love me some Haultain! Always delivering the best fish and chips Victoria has to offer. This is the halibut I dream about.

After decades of hearing good things about the Haultain, finally got in there today, and was NOT disappointed. The couple that run it are lovely people, very sweet, so the service was excellent. And food was perfect, hot, fresh, and very tasty.....so good to find a spot for good fish & chips.....and we will be back again, in the not too distant future. le yum.
