I like the fact that Bear Creek Funeral Home goes above and beyond. Staff is great, Doug and Eunice are both wonderful, and I appreciate the fact that they said yes to our requests. The only other competition here would have made our experience more about their profits and getting us “dealt with” as soon as possible. Essential cremations was unfortunately one of the only cost effective options for basic cremations in Grande Prairie. After losing a family member, there was a potential for transportation to Edmonton where the cost of basic service is 1/4 of Grande Prairie. After speaking with both funeral homes in town, the cost is nearly $4000 for a standard cremation, leaving family members in a situation where out of pocket cost may be crippling financially. Essential prices their basic package at $2500 which is the amount of the federal death benefit. I met with Craig the funeral director who explained in every detail the process, and billing of the services provided. I was very impressed with their professionalism and simplicity. I was able to have my loved one transported from the hospital and cremated in a timely manner. Thank you for making a difficult time a little easier.
