3 Best Landmarks in Prince George, BC

You can tell a lot about a community by its support of their public library and the staff in it. The library is a community hub that services some of the communities most vulnerable. In a stopover in Prince George, I had to kill 4 to 5 hours before my flight to Vancouver. Let me tell you that the staff at this library is top-notch, and the patience they exhibited with the couple of incidents that I witnessed in my short visit was inspirational. This isn't the biggest or most modern library I have been in across the country, but its staff are one of the best.

The library located in the center of the city attracts attention with its rich collection of books, magazines and games. It's a complete community place with desks, computers, and children's areas. It is admirable that all the staff always approach the guests with a smile and help them.

The PGPL is the best. A bright, clean space with friendly, helpful and kind staff, excellent programs and services, a huge and varied collection of books and resources. Truly can’t say enough good things.

Cute little homestead. I liked that they had little cards that were quick to read to give you some info, but not so much you couldn't read it all before the kids ran off. They also had some games like horseshoes, badminton, bocce, and croquet. The candy in the store was reasonably priced. There's a covered area with picnic tables which would be good for a picnic. The one thing to note is that you have to park at the top of a hill and walk down (well, you could drop people off, but someone needs to walk down). It was worth the hour or so we spent there.

Great place for a visit. Canada Day was super, I have been out for the event days and they are always well run. Pancakes are really good!

Charming, relaxed, historic. Great for kids and individuals interested in local history with lots to see and experience.
