“Mr. PG Statue is a registered trademark of the City of Prince George in Prince George, BC. The statue is a towering mascot crafted from wood, representing the city and its forestry industry. Mr. PG Statue first appeared publicly on May 8, 1960, to welcome delegates to a Rotary International conference at the Simon Fraser Inn. Since then, he has undergone many transformations and has been part of numerous community celebrations. He continues to welcome visitors to Prince George's from his current location at Highways 16 and 97 intersection. In addition to his larger-than-life presence along the highways, his smiling face has appeared on various memorabilia, including quilts, signs, pennants, t-shirts, postcards, and even a Canada Post stamp.”
