“Dr. Sita Gourishankar completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta Medical School. She completed her residency in internal medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON. Dr. Sita also completed a two-year clinical research fellowship in kidney transplantation and earned her Master of Science in Epidemiology at Harvard University. She has been invited nationally and internationally to present lectures on her research regarding the health outcomes of kidney transplant recipients. Dr. Sita Gourishankar is a clinical expert in treating hemodialysis, electrolyte abnormalities, and childhood kidney problems. She has received a Clinical Investigator Award from the Alberta Heritage Foundation, as well as research grants from the NIH, CIHR, Kidney Foundation, and University Hospital Foundation.

2025 Update: Dr. Sita Gourishankar has served as the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Director of Professionalism and Remediation for the MD program. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Renal Transplant Program, Director of the Living Donor Kidney Program, and Co-Director of the Kidney Transplant Fellowship Training Program.”
