I can not be thankful enough for Dr. Avery for the awesome job he had performed for me. I have been fighting bad sciatica for months. All medications have failed to control my pain and I am just getting side effects. I was literally crippled by my pain. Dr. Avery was very kind to accept me, explained to me my options, explained the procedure and any possible side effects. My operation was very smooth, thanks God. Once I opened my eyes, my pain is gone. That was unbelievable. He has an awesome bedside manner and very empathetic. The Nursing staff at the hospital did a great job during my recovery. I can not be thankful enough for you and your team. May God bless all your work.

Dr. Avery is a wonderful doctor. I had crippling sciatic nerve issues. The surgery was 100% successful as post surgery I have had no recurrence of that intense pain. As important, perhaps, is that I found this doctor addresses the whole person, hearing and addressing each of my concerns regarding the surgery and giving me all the information needed to make an informed decision. It just doesn't get any better than that! The nurses in the Neurosurgery unit were kind, helpful and oh so patient.

I am very thankful that I was in Dr. Avery's hands after having a tumor resection. Dr. Avery explained to me what will the results and side effects be after the surgery. During the surgery, I was in a deep sleep and felt no pain. After I woke up, the nursing staff professionally provided me with the medications and everyday medical checks during that stage. After I recovered from the surgery, Dr. Avery was checking up on my scans and he was following up with me in person for a period of every six months. I cannot be thankful enough for what you have done. Many thanks to you and to your team.

This surgeon is amazing. He was kind and highly professional. I wanted a Surgeon/Doctor that would do my surgery and give me a good health outcome and follow up. That is exactly what I received. Thank you Dr. Englebrecht. It was rather difficult to get to see you initially, but I attribute this to an external miscommunication unrelated to you; and this can happen. Once I had my appointment, things moved forward very quickly in order to have the surgery performed. In the hospital, things went very well and I have nothing but great things to say about you, your colleagues, the nurses and staff.

This Dr. Is incredible. I had a brain aneurysm rupture and was air lifted to St. John’s and was tended to immediately. After two surgeries he told my family he had done everything he could do for me but I wasn’t responding. He continued running scans and checking for brain activity and stood by my side waiting. A couple of days later I woke up and began my rehabilitation process. After two months in hospital, I’m the same as I was before he operated with no problems at all. His office arranged all my post op scans and appointments and when I went this week I officially got a clean bill of health. He is truly a wonderful doctor.

He saved my child’s life in the nick of time. Dr. Engelbrecht was kind, caring and compassionate. He knew exactly what to do and when to do it, which is extremely impressive given my child’s case was quite rare. He explained the procedure, risks and complications in a very calm manner in the height of a crisis and then did his work. Excellent follow up afterward. My family will be forever grateful for what he did. Thank you Dr. Engelbrecht!
