He trained in Ireland with a double fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery (FRCS Ireland & FRCS Canada). He completed his double sub-specialty training at St. Michael's Hospital and the University of Toronto. The first fellowship was in skull base and vascular neurosurgery, and the second was in complex spinal neurosurgery. Dr. Abdurrahim Elashaal practices at Windsor Regional Hospital.
