Each year, 1.54 million people visit the zoo. Calgary Zoo is recognized internationally for its work in biodiversity regeneration and reintroduction. The three zones of outdoor enclosures are Aspen Woodlands, the Northern Forest, and the Rocky Mountains. Calgary Zoo offers free admission for children aged two and under. Zoo gift cards can purchase items at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, including food and admission tickets.

2025 Update: The 125-acre zoo is organized into distinct zones: Destination Africa, Wild Canada (formerly Canadian Wilds), Penguin Plunge, Dorothy Harvie Botanical Gardens and ENMAX Conservatory, Exploration Asia, and Prehistoric Park. The zoo is open every day except on Christmas Day.”

There are more than 430,000 visitors annually, including over 82,000 students. The science centre is located on a 15-acre (61,000 m2) site. TELUS Spark is an all-inclusive experience, giving visitors full access to galleries, the outdoor park, and free dome shows. It was the first purpose-built science centre in Canada in 25 years.
