During our Calgary stay we visited the zoo as my kids really enjoy animals. We've been to many a zoo and some are amazing and some we simply just leave within an hour. The Calgary Zoo was well worth the time and money. Even though they were in the middle of a renovation, we still got the full zoo experience seeing animals from all parts of the world. More importantly the entire zoo had a conservation theme which is quite important to us as well.

This place is absolutely fabulous. A whole day is needed to get the full advantage of all there is to offer. We took the train ride around the park and the boat ride around the lake. We had food in the Wainright hotel and bought some much vaunted sausage rolls. We were lucky enough to ride the boat when there was live commentary on what we could see. The conductor on the train was full of helpful suggestions and what to buy, for sure. The car museum alone could keep a person occupied all day.

Wonderfully organized display of history depicted through diverse medium that can be covered in a short time. The interpretation of history is very easy to understand and people with diverse level of cognitive or language comprehension would be able to understand. Valuable lessons about Canadian life and history, especially for children and newcomers which would help foster understanding and conservationist attitude.
