It was my second visit to the Western Development Museum. It was such a wonderful experience.. again. My dad grew up in Saskatchewan and passed away when my brothers and I were kids. We had lived on our grandparent's farm for a few years when we were kids, while our dad was alive. Visiting as adults with our mom and our aunt and uncle (our dad's sister) really brought back a lot of great memories for all of us. It was such a rich experience, so glad we went.

I love going to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo for the fresh-air experience and seeing the animals - all in a natural setting. There are so many things to see and since it's a large area to cover, one could take a train ride around with an interpretive guide explaining about the animals and the history of everything. It originally was a true forestry farm and farmers were given trees for their land as windbreaks.

We really enjoyed our visit to Wanuskewin Heritage Park. A brief film gave a great introduction to the site and its significance. I was blown away when I realized that the site of the buffalo jump is older than the pyramids. It took me a second to really grasp that. As we walked on the trails I had no difficulty imagining what it would have been like to actually be part of the community as preparations were made for the hunt. Truly a beautiful, amazing site! I very highly recommend it.
