This museum documents a great piece of Canadian history related to the railway and the local community. The secret room is in the basement where you’ll find the model railway with scale model of the area with tracks, trains, bridges, landscape, cars and people put together according to the photos they had available. Amazing!
Had a great walk through, wish I had got the girls names who work there they were so pleasant to talk to, full of original pieces here as well & so much to learn, when you go down to the basement WOW! There is a diorama that has 30+ years of progress on it & still to this day continue to work on it. From what I've learned the last Sunday of the month they open it up so you can get a close up look at it & run the train.
I remember going here a couple years back, from what I remember it was an amazing experience. I loved the old equipment, the park was really nice, the grass was well kept. Downstairs there's a model layout of the local area, it was really detailed and the men operating it was super nice. If anyone is visiting the lower mainland, I'd highly recommend this museum. Great information in the areas history and learnt some things I (as a long time Maple Ridge resident) didn't even know.
