“Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre has been Brantford's primary sports and leisure facility for over 50 years. This centre features a four-pad arena, 65m and 25m pools, a hydrotherapy pool, a warm water pool, a sauna, a 150-ft waterslide, a dry-land training room, a gymnasium, and a fitness centre offering a wide variety of land and pool fitness classes. The centre also hosts various special events throughout the year. Individuals of all ages can conveniently register for programs and activities at Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

2025 Update: You can learn to swim by registering for their swim lessons available throughout the year. They offer a variety of programs for parents and children, including preschoolers, youth, and adults. They have a range of day camps for children aged 6 to 13.”

WAYNE GRETZKY SPORTS CENTRE REVIEWS

Awesome facility for any activity to pass time. Just wish there were more swim lessons available! But I guess that’s a good problem to have. The indoor track is great! Open almost always and it’s free to use. There’s also outdoor trails around back that are nice to walk. We used the gym before COVID and the only issue we had was the lack of squat racks. There’s only one so we had to change or workouts a lot to choose other options for squats. There’s a fair amount of cardio equipment though if that’s what you’re after and the classes , like spin, are put together well!

The swimming facilities are great!!!! I am recovering from an accident, this is the perfect place for rehabilitation. Walking exercises in pool, lap lanes available. The hydrotherapy pool maintained at a warm temperature in the 95 degree range with jets. Plenty of change rooms for access to different areas.

What a great facility for sports, make me envy their resident to have good time with their family Thank you to great one to give us such a gem They have their own hall of fame! Fantastic!!

LAURIER BRANTFORD YMCA REVIEWS

After doing a couple months of research and touring other gyms in Brantford, I settled on joining the YMCA instead of other more expensive options, and I'm happy that I did! The machines and staff rival similar private facilities, all within walking distance from home. It's great to know that my membership fee goes right back into improving both the facility and the community. Highly recommend for those looking to get more movement in their lives!

This is hands down the best Y location. It is always super clean, the gym has every piece of equipment you would need with lots of workout space so you don't feel cramped. Best of all, the staff is absolutely amazing, they are so kind, they get to know you by name and they are always there to help with anything, they are the kindest staff I have ever know at a gym.

I love the pool on the weekends, playing fun music and a good community feel. The change rooms are nice and the gym area has lots of youth but still respectful culture and a good variety of exercise machines.

WOODMAN PARK COMMUNITY CENTRE REVIEWS

This is the place that I usually go to vote but this time it was the Genesis Church meeting just before Christmas it was simply simple and very communal with awesome grub and even better desserts pastor Mike kept it short and sweet I must say publicly thanks to and for everyone who came out and happy holidays to all.

I support a teenage boy with Autism who loves to play basketball and swim (as most teenage boys do) the staff and other kids have been so friendly and accommodating .. great facility... we're lucky to have it in our community.

Place is very clean and holds a lot of different events. One problem.. As a election worker the basketball court where we worked for 13 hour days x 4, it was freezing and air conditioner on continuously. We froze.
