“Paul Reynolds Community Centre offers a 25-metre lane swimming pool, therapeutic warm water leisure pool with zero-depth beach entry, two waterslides, hydraulic lift and water wheelchairs, pool viewing area, and fully accessible family change rooms. The center is a fantastic water playground for children, with a small lazy river, two large waterslides, a diving board, and a great place to swim overall. Paul Reynolds Community Centre operates two indoor pools, two outdoor pools and three splash pads.

2025 Update: There are a variety of amenities available, including a gymnasium, fitness centre, walking track, and swimming pool. The facility also offers a range of programs for people of all ages, from fitness classes to arts and crafts. Paul Reynolds Community Centre is a hub of activity, with something for everyone. The centre provides family, public, and adult lane swimming, as well as, shallow and deep water fitness classes and Red Cross swimming lessons for children and adults. The centre aims to encourage residents to lead healthy and active lifestyles by offering inclusive and accessible leisure programs and services. H.G.R. Mews Community Centre offers opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities to participate in various indoor and outdoor activities at scheduled times or at their leisure. They offer water wheelchairs, accessible family change rooms, parking, e-cards, and facility rentals.

2025 Update: The H.G.R. Mews Community Centre spans 60,000 square feet and offers a wide range of amenities to meet the diverse needs of residents. The 100-meter indoor walking track overlooks the gym area and has three lanes, one acting as a passing lane. At over 11,000 square feet, this is St. John’s largest inclusive play space, welcoming kids of all abilities to play.”

Gorgeous new building! The layout is organized, open and welcoming. It's very modern and clean. There are lots of viewing areas to watch swimmers, and two large water slides. There's a wide variety of programs available for all ages - swim lessons, water fitness classes, playgroups for toddlers and small children, the list goes on. The schedule is great for dropping in for swimming, and the pool is well laid out with heated sections. Everything is very reasonably priced - drop in payment or passes are available.

Fabulous community centre and swimming facility. The children's pool is separate from adult/deep pool and there were a selection of slides and play areas as well as the lazy river. The changing facilities were clean and well laid out and there are a number of multi purpose rooms available as well as viewing and lounge areas. There is also plenty of space to park. Overall, probably one of the better facilities in St. John's and surrounding municipalities.

I recently visited the Paul Reynolds community centre for the first time. Before I even reached the counter to be served I was greeted by a man working at the facility named Don. He was very polite, friendly, helpful and even offered to show me around the building since I hadn’t been there before. Excellent customer service. The facility seems well kept and has many programs to avail of.

THE WORKS REVIEWS

The works is good place for workout for students and staff of Memorial University as well as general public. Usually crowded in the evening but there is COVID19 protocol in place. You clean before and after using any machine and there is limitations to number of people inside each room. The perfect time for me is in the morning. ATM is also available for someone in quick need of cash.

Probably the best pool in St John's. Also it doesn't offer a hot tub this pool is known for its slides and amazing swimming lessons. Even though it's awesome for swimming the lifeguards here suck. The Works offers jobs to kids who don't have their full life guarding certificate just because it's cheaper.

Was clean, staff members were great. Easy to get through if you're a few minutes after the opening of the swim. When leaving the lobby was lined with families for the next swim time.

Great spot to have a birthday party. The best price and lots of space in the party room!! Parties these days are so over rated and I find to be a small fortune after the pizza, cake , party favors and loot bags are taken care of!! So to rent the pool and party room total of 2 hours for an amazing price. My son loved his party and the staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful! Also a great place to put your child in swimming lessons. The instructors here are well trained and give each child the attention they need!!

Good place with steam room, sauna, diving board and the pool. The staff is friendly, and the changing rooms are quite clean. Recommend it for family visits but Paul Reynolds is still better in terms of pool You could also buy steam/sauna and pool pass separately.

Love their pool. Always have since even 20+ years ago. Sad they close the pool early on the weekends now due to lack of lifeguards but I love this place. Memories from when I was little and now memories with my own kids.
