Gateway Recreation Centre has been a cherished hub for North East Winnipeg families for over five decades. The centre consists of two year-round indoor rinks, two outdoor hockey rinks, one indoor soccer pitch, four mini soccer fields, three regulation soccer fields, seven ball diamonds, two outdoor asphalt hockey pens, as well as a banquet hall, a canteen, a youth and adult activity centre, and a summer outdoor splash pad and play structure. There is parking for 309 vehicles, and the centre also has wheelchair accessibility. Gateway Recreation Centre is located 15 minutes from downtown and within a short distance of the perimeter highway.

2025 Update: Bronx Park Community Centre facility provides programming to the Kildonan and Elmwood areas. The 25,000 square foot facility includes a gymnasium, multi-purpose room, classrooms, meeting rooms, offices, a computer lab and creative arts labs. Bronx Park Community Centre also hosts two outdoor hockey rinks, a family rink , and an outdoor playground structure. The centre offers many spaces for rent at a reasonable cost. Bronx Park Community Centre offers a variety of programs and sports registration, including Bingo, Soccer and Hockey Programs, Woodshop classes and Woodshop drop-in and a Farmer's Market from June to September. Their outdoor ice rinks are generally open from December to late March, weather permitting.
