“Art Gallery of Alberta is a historical and contemporary Canadian art gallery located in Edmonton, AB. The Gallery has acquired over 6,000 pieces, most of which were created after 1950 and added to the Collection. They also have 1,500 photographs for display. This is a center of excellence for the visual arts in Western Canada, linking people, art, and ideas. The strength of the Gallery's contemporary Collection lies mainly in the field of abstract painting and sculpture in Canada, with a heavy focus on the artists' work. Acquisitions also included significant works by Alberta contemporary artists Catherine Burgess, Allen Ball, Chris Cran, Clay Ellis, Douglas Haynes, and more. The Gallery also continues to draw on the Collection's strengths through acquisitions by renowned Canadian artists. Here, admission is free for AGA members, youth 0-17, and Alberta students 18+.”
