FREDIE'S FANTASTIC FISH HOUSE REVIEWS

Thank you for the warm and welcome hospitalty! The atmosphere of a street diner at a strip mall, mostly seating at counters, my husband raved about their fish and chips and fried clams. I had a lobster-rich seafood chowder. They had a very brisk take-out business, too: clearly a very popular local business.

During our visit a few months back to Halifax, we tried Freddie’s Fish House. Honestly, we were blown away by the freshness and flavorful nature of every dish we ordered. Although I had the lobster roll, their fish and chips were an absolute standout— easily the best I've ever had. The experience was so delightful that I'd happily make the trip from Toronto just to savor their exceptional dishes again. What made the visit even better was the incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home.

Fish batter is crisp, and the fish is fresh. Tastes so nice. The chowder base was consistent and not gruel-ish. It had a big scallop, fresh haddock, and lots of chunks of lobster. Service is friendly and attentive. This is a place that has maintained its reputation for a reason.

The chef is so nice! Always super friendly and funny. The food is amazing, I always tell my friends that it's the best fish and chips in town. They make tarter sauce so tasty I'd put it on everything if I could. Excellent portion sizes, amazing taste, wonderful service, and the prices are super reasonable. Highly recommend.

We were blown away how amazing the quality of food was and the restaurant atmosphere! Lucien and his staff gave great service! The fact that everything was homemade was incredible- best fish and chips we have ever had.

It was an awesome stop. We wanted a 3pc fish/chips, lightly battered. When I asked for 2 forks, he offered to split the dish in 2 boxes. That made it easier for us to share. The fish is always so fresh, just about melts in your mouth. The fries are always good as well. It's a must-go place. Excellent job, Lucien.

Food was beyond AMAZING!! we tried seafood platter, fish and chips, scsllops and chips, sweet potato fries, donair, Pecan pie, homemade coconut cream pie and strawberry short cake. All of them were sooo good. We love it!! They gave us a seperate tartar sauce for fish and chips. It was really good!! My favorite was seafood platter and Pecan pie. Staff was so friendly, nice, polite, energetic and sweet!! If I ever to visit Halifax again I would definitely go again! Highly recommended!!

Amazing place, good old style restaurant. Very welcoming staff. I had the Fish burger platter with salt & pepper fries, both were delicious.

First bite into my fish and ships and I had to write this 5 star review! Awesome restaurant!
