This is a lovely short hike. You can do the first part easily; it's flat and has access to a pebble beach. To get out into the rocky headlands, which are covered in Garry Oak, big firs and other tree species, you'll need to either scramble up and over, or, tide-dependent, go around one of them ( low tide only). It's absolutely worth it! Good view of the Shack Islands. Lots of native wildflowers in the Spring.

We walked the coastal trail from Keel Cove to Neck Point Park on a cool but sunny day in late May. The walk was fantastic; a wonderful mix of forest and coastline; delightful small coves and expansive views across the water to the mountains; pretty wildflowers, plenty of birds and views of marine mammals. There are also signs providing information on geology, wildlife etc. The trails are easy walking, particularly through the forest. The coastal trails have several sets of stairs.

Joggers love this run as it has some hills, some flat spots and allows you to run under a great canopy. You can also ride your bicycle on the paths but must be courteous to those hiking, strolling and jogging. The lake is stocked with trout and is popular for fly fishing. You are permitted and electric motor but no gas engines. We come at all seasons to enjoy the outdoors and can see many types of birds enjoying the lake. This is a great place for a picnic and in the summer.
