We arrived on the Ferry and wanted to kill some time before supper. It was raining so we looked for an indoor attraction and this Museum filled the bill. Very nicely laid out and lots of information and exhibits on the history, industry and sports in the area. What was particularly fun was the Bathtub races and of course the famous Nanaimo bars. A must visit to educate yourself on the history of the area and they have a nice gift shop as well.

Visited this museum by pure accident - it was not advertised anywhere and it is not visible from anywhere. Do visit, you will not regret. Lots and lots of medals, guns, swords, military outfits, models, pictures, flags, coats of arms, etc, It's amazing how they managed to fit it all in a such small space. It took us about 40-60 minutes to walk around it, but if you want to pay attention to details, prepare to spend hours.
