“Orangeville Public Library started as the Orangeville Mechanics Institute (OMI), a members-only organization, around 1878. The OMI opened its doors to the public in 1895 and had outgrown its location by the early 1900s. The building was designated a heritage site under the Ontario Heritage Act in 2002. Orangeville Public Library's architecture is the only surviving example of Beaux-Arts Classicism in Orangeville, a major contributing factor to the heritage designation. This library includes additional floor space, a community living room, and a spectacular children's area. The library offers downloadable eBooks and audiobooks on CD for all ages. The team provides 'CELA DAISY Talking Books on CD for individuals with a print disability. Moreover, your library card allows you to borrow various items from the Orangeville Public Library.”
